Question How to hide just part of text with [hide] BBcode?

I tried to get just part of the text hidden with hide BBcode, but it hides all.

What is exact syntax for hide BBcode? Please, write it without []

Doesn't work for me. I downloaded latest version from vBorg (1.1.5), everything else works fine. When I used hide BBcode, all text was hidden and when I clicked Likes, all text was revealed, BBcode included. I saw that when I wrote post to inform my users about this option.

Also, I tried to find hide BBcode among BBcodes, but I didn't find it. Is it possible that BBcode hide wasn't installed? And how to install it?

The HIDE BBCode is a special kind of BBCode and doesn't show up in the AdminCP, to prevent accidental deletion.

[HIDE]This is the only thing that's hidden.[/HIDE]

Ok, here's what I have:

What I'm doing wrong, why all of it is invisible till I click likes button? Visible part should be visible, invisible part should become visible after click, but I see:

This post requires you to click the Likes button to read this content.

Any idea why?

EDIT: Also, I just see this on your site, hide BBcode is here invisible, but on my site it's visible. I think that something is missing with my installation, or something else is wrong. I guess that part of code for recognizing hide BBcode is missing.

Ok, I reinstalled (even downloaded version from your site, just to be sure there's nothing wrong with vBorg version, but they are the same) on my site. Also, I installed it on my test site.

The result is the same, hide code doesn't work. Everything is the same. Here I can see that I can't see hide code, but on my site I see it.

This is what I used exactly (text is in Croatian):

Vidljivi dio teksta, bez koristenja hide BBcodea.

[hide]nevidljivi dio teksta...[/hide]

Here, when I write it, I don't see hide code at all, but on my site I see it. Something's missing, maybe light version has bug in it? I don't know...

Could you try disabling all other modifications and see if that helps? At this point it seems to be something with your particular set up causing the problem, another mod interfering is a possibility =)

You don't see hide code for your own posts, because that would be silly

Yes, but this is not the point. The point is, on my forum you see hide code because hide code doesn't get filtered, i.e. something doesn't work right, hide code isn't recognized as proper BBcode.

Cosmic, on my test server I don't have mods, so it's pretty clean. But, I went and disabled everything, so I have only vBCMS i vBBlog, as well as your vBShout. And it's the same, it doesn't work, hide code is visible. It might be something with server setting, maybe, or PHP, or something else...

If this was a bug in the code then it would most likely have been reported before as dozens of people use the Lite version off here and off vBulletin.org.

xD yea, HIDE /HIDE combined with the "Require X to see Y" (where X is button name and Y is either Content or Attachments) boxes found on the Go Advanced page will hide either the content between the tags, or the attachments, until the button(s) in question have been clicked.

Yes, I too realized this, but I really don't know what this could be. Maybe some PHP thing? As I understand, hide code is resolved through direct PHP coding by your mode, not by vB BBcode options. Or there may be more people who have problems, but don't even know it as they don't know about hide code?

For the moment I could make whole message dependent on click on right button. Having ability to use hide code for just part of message would be great. If I found out what (or where) the problem is, I'll tell you.
