Site is not up and running yet but we were wondering where/how we could center the (thanks, likes. dislikes) buttons at?

Is it a template or plug-in?

I just looked and couldn't find it.

Do you mean the menu in ACP? Nothing in there to center.....

BTW, what is "Can Require Click" and "Button Exclusivity" ?

You would need to modify the dbtech_thanks_postbit_entries templates in order to center the button bar.

Can Require Click allows the members of that usergroup to, via the "Go Advanced" post form (or the "New Thread" form), require the user to click one of your configured buttons in order to see either the content or the attachments to that post.

"Button Exclusivity" means that if any of the buttons you indicate are clicked, the button you're editing becomes unavailable. For instance, editing "Thanks" and ticking the box for "Dislikes" means that if someone clicks the Dislike button, they can't also click Thanks. You would need to edit the Dislike button and tick it for Thanks to prevent the reverse being possible.

Same with the phrase "Post Thanks / Like - 0 Thanks, 0 Likes, 0 Dislikes" above it? Because that one only seems to move an inch to the right when we try to center it (or is it centered in a different template?).

Oh and THANKS for explaining those terms above. Appreciate it.

I would add the center tag to the div correct?

I tried every div, with no results. I also tried to center the phrase directly by wrapping < center > tags around it but it only moved the phrase an inch to the right.

Is there something that needs to be removed, before the center tags work? The buttons centered nicely, but the phrase is having problems.

Note that these are customisations you are best left to ask your theme developer for.

I couldn't find a way to center it. I'll probably have to remove it as it can't remain looking as it does.

Just a quick note since these forums are here to help both customers and you; this is going to be the forth DragonByte hack that I've had to delete because of the way it looked. You guys are good coders, no doubt, but if your objective is to make money then you'd be better off putting more polish on your hacks appearance.

I appreciate your feedback :)

You are actually the first person that I can recall to want the button bar center aligned, and certainly the first person to uninstall the entire modification due to it.

For that reason, if we were to spend the time centering this, we'd essentially be spending time changing the mod for hundreds (if not thousands) of users with a change that one person asked for.

If we receive multiple pieces of feedback regarding the style of a mod, we will of course change it, but hopefully you can understand that it's difficult to make sweeping changes for the sake of one person :)

The appearance of our forums is important to us. Some things are fine with the default left aligned, but these buttons being cluttered with other controls that are left aligned make it hard for members to know if they pertain to the above post, or the one below. Many people on forums are not forum savvy, especially members in the age group of 45+. They need features laid out in a organized fashion. My job as an administrator is to ensure that the forum is easy for everyone to navigate. Too many hurdles and they will go to another site which is just a click away. With these buttons set in the center they stand out better and are just easier to use, which, btw is a good thing.

Actually that's not entirely true. When people install hacks they rarely change many aspects of it. For some it's because they're lazy, for others it's because they're afraid it will "break" the hack. We both know that if the hack came with the buttons center aligned default that no one would have thought twice about it, and I guarantee that if the first version had the buttons center aligned and then you switched to left aligned later on, that people would have complained about it.

I don't believe you can find anywhere that I ever asked that you make global "sweeping changes" to the hack. I simply asked how I could make those changes in our code.

Seemed like a simple request at the time
:)
