Hello, I'm one of the suckers that purchased the RPG software from Inferno a couple years ago. I was a big participant on those forums until everything appeared to stop there. Trekkan has spoken highly of this site to me though, so I'm here to check it out. I'm still a little hesitant on buying mods though after the RPG thing, but maybe I'll come around.

Good to see you around =)

I hate to sound like a broken record, but the folding up of Inferno Tech had to do with Zero taking off and closing everything down, I myself was caught as off guard by it as everyone else (When Zero moved out i was under the impression Itech would continue as was).

Even so, Former iTech customers get a 25% discount on DBT products, as way of an apology.

I'd like to point out that even though iTech closed down, everyone still got the products they paid for, and they continued to work even after iTech went down, so it's not like anyone paid for something and then never received the product =)

Hope you find what you're looking for here at DBTech ^.^

Hello and Welcome to DBtech, my name is Neo, feel free to ask about anything, please do not be discouraged by what happened back at Infernotech, this wasn't to do with Cosmic, we are a seperate entity it was the coder Scott (aka Zero tolerance) that dissappeared. however we are a brand new company with different staff and we intend to be around for a very long time. Basically we have no connection to Inferno Technologies with the only exception that Cosmic was from there as part of its team, we are a brand new team with brand new outlooks. and we hope we can satisfy your vB needs with good quality products.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and i hope you enjoy our site.

Thanks for the reply. I've read the posts here about Inferno and I know it leads back to Zero. I also know I got what I paid for, but I always thought more was going to be added and it was a huge disappointment when it died out. I guess the thing that worries me most is purchasing something and hoping it is around for as long as it says it will be. Also, will there be more upgrades on that product in 12 months or 3 years?

More than likey there will be product updates so long as we can keep improving it, there is a lifespan to everything, for example what if we release enough updates and features that the product couldn't possibly get anymore better? thats when updates stop for it. we take pride in listening to what our customers have to say, if theres a feature we've missed or someone finds room for improvement, we'll do what we can to implement it to make our products better.

in some cases we even reward our customers with discount if they suggest such a good idea that we all benefit from. For example your friend Treakken suggested icon packs, we now have started to work on some and he got a little discount on the premium one as a thank you.

We usually have a rough update schedule for new products. Most of them will go through a couple of phases.

Initial release, followed in the next fortnight by an update with features people request etc that won't take too long.

Then, depending on the schedule for new products etc, within the next month to 6 months will be another large update with new features we didn't have time to add in previously.

After that the product is left at version X.5 until we have enough new features requested by customers or come up with ourselves to create a new version.

Occasionally we will discover new technology or a paradigm shift will make it possible for us to dramatically alter/improve the product, in which case there will be another big update.

So to summarise, usually it'll go like this

Release.
Within one month: Update
Within 6 months: Update
Within 18 months: Update

Neo_Angelo, that's a good point. Eventually everything reaches a point when it is done. I don't think RPG was complete myself though, especially since Zero did make promises for future stuff.

I'm not trying to be negative about this site though. I prefer to give everyone a chance to prove themselves, so my negativity isn't towards any of you. I was just let down in the past so I'm hesitant is all. I don't blame any of you for what happened. Trekkan convinced me this is a good product, so I'm here to try it out, hopefully fall in love with it, and then purchase the Pro version. :)

Thank you both for the replies.

Thats not a problem, if there is anything else you need to know we'll be more than happy to answer any queries you have, i hope you love our products and i look forward to having you as a regular customer should you do :)

The RPG was definetely not finished. It was myself who was designing it (and who designed v3) and i still have pages upon pages of features planned for Version 4. Unfortunately that never got made obviously =(

The truth is though that v3 was still light years ahead of anything else at the time (Theres still nothing quite like it out even now, years later) But really v3 was essentially completely different from v2, and v4 was going to be an even bigger leap forward - not so much updates as entirely new systems built from the ground up =)

Welcome to DB-Tech man :D

There was so much to look forward to with the relase of v4.
I had my old company (wo^tron LLC) on Scots sever and when Inferno Tech crashed my design company went with it :( so I know what its like to be lost out of a deal...

I know Cosmic won't let this place slide like IT ;)
he was probably the most bummed/pissed when IT fell apart.

Its good though to see a lot of the modifications that made IT what it was coming back with the same nice designs they had :)
