Customer
installed the lite version on my newly started forums right now, looking at the shoutbox it displays "Error: 500 error"

when I try to look at the shoutbox tabs in AdminCP they are blank

have I installed this wrong? if so what did I do wrong or is this some other issue?

would appreciate a prompt response, thank you

Sounds like to me you did not upload the files properly, please reupload the files to the proper place, by drag and drop the contents of the upload folder to your folder containing your forum files,

I uploaded it(the upload folder contents) into the main directory which looks basically like this http://i.imgur.com/cuFgZ.png
you are supposed to upload to the base directory are you not?

Could you please create and PM me with a temporary FTP and AdminCP account?

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new FTP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues.

The same applies to AdminCP accounts; they should ideally be temporary accounts created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorised user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the FTP account has access to the forum files, and that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it :D

done, I hope we can resolve this for both our sakes :)

I seemingly have a similar error trying to get VBdonate up, the AdminCP page for it is simply blank

what have I done wrong? :(

A 500 error is server side..As Ozzy47 says your folder structures/paths are incorrect..

do you have any idea how to fix it? I upload the upload folder contents in the form of a zipped file to the main forum area, extract it, follow any other directions of the install and then it doesn't work

You need to extract the zip to your computer, not upload the zip to your site. And then read the instructions once you have extracted it to a folder on your computer..

no I just use a zip to upload the contents of "Uploard" and the unzip it in my main folder, I have read the instructions

Well extract the zip to a folder or to your desktop and view the folder, then read the instructions within the folder.

Do you have a site?

you're misunderstanding me, I Upload everything in the appropriate upload folder(upload in the form of a zip, and extract it to main folder, exactly the same as uploading the files individually) to /public_html/ where VBulletin is installed

of course I have viewed the origional Zip, the one I am uploading is not the original zip, it is the upload folder

and yes I do have a site

Do you have any other dbtech products installed or is this your first..

it was my first, I now also have VBDonate(also not working) and one other plugin not by DB called "IWT" which does work

seems to just be DB products that aren't working
