I've installed this with thanks and it appears successful...

However, do I need to uncheck (turn OFF) the vBulletin "similar thread search" functions in two different AdminCP places that were already running, in order for Recommended Threads mod to work, or can I just leave the settings ON for it.

Thanks... :)

Regards,
Doug

Thanks for the support, particularly on a free product... it is appreciated...

In the AdminCP there's 2 places where you can turn ON support for similar threads, as provided by vBulletin code itself..

Under Message Search Options

Automatic Similar Thread Search
Setting this option will cause a search for similar threads to be automatically done when a new thread is posted. These similar threads are then linked to from the newly posted thread's page. This can have an effect on performance. (ON) (OFF)

Under Thread Display Options (showthread)

Show Similar Threads? (ON) (OFF)
Set this value to 'Yes' if you would like to see 'similar threads' displayed on the show thread page.
Please note that this setting will only work if you have 'Automatic Similar Thread Search' enabled in the message searching options section.

Should these two vBulletin options be turned OFF if I enable your recommended thread mod?

Second, I have come across an issue being reported by several members. With this mod activated, the tabs that appear in any browser showing the thread title being looked, ALL display the same thread name all the time. Also, in the areaat the top of any thread display under the button to "Reply to Thread" where it also displays a back-link to the thread being read.... that back-link also always shows the same thread (as in the browser tab) for ALL threads being read.

If I turn OFF the "Recommended Threads" mod in it's AdminCP settings option, everything returns to normal.

Thanks for your help...

Regards,
Doug

Only the option I mentioned previously should be turned off :)

I'm unable to replicate any issues with thread titles, what browsers are they using?

I've tried FireFox 51.01 and members that were reporting the issue were using AOL, IE and Chrome...

Thanks for the feedback ..

Doug

Is there such a thing as an AOL browser?

In either case, I will need to see this issue in action in order to be able to assist you further.

Apparently they use some of of IE....

Thanks....

I'll just stick with the vBulletin "Similar Threads" option for now...
