Hello,

I use the DragonByte SEO plugin in the 2.0.36 version for vBulletin 3.8.10. Unfortunately there is a problem with the umlauts öäüß.

I use the default skin, it has only changed css and icons.

Screens:

Do you have an idea how to fix it?

v 2.0.37 I can not install. When I upload the xml, I get afterwards only a white page in the whole acp and forum, With and without htaccess.

The Forum is current offline.

Regards

If you are receiving white pages, please make sure display_errors is turned on in php.ini and that SKIP_ALL_ERRORS is not enabled in vB's config.php.

When I upload the XML, I must then a database backup to import, because nothing more goes. Is there a short hotfix for the bug? I can not do this today with the backup.

In order to see why the XML upload fails, you need to perform the steps I outlined above. That is the first step before I can begin to assist you with the umlauts issue.

Ok, an update on 2.0.37 has suddenly worked. Funny, yesterday it did not work.

The umlaut problem persists. :(

expected output: ä ö ü
real output: ä ö ü

It is perhaps because of ISO-8859-1?

If your database is in utf-8 you should set your charset in vBulletin to utf-8 as well. If your database is in latin1_swedish_ci (the default), you should leave the language setting alone but also make sure you have not enabled utf-8 in DBSEO.

I know.
The problem is not with all threads.

The problem exists only with newly created threads since I have installed the seo plugin.

With newly created threads the problem occurs sometimes and sometimes not.

I do not understand it either. It must be a bug in the plugin.

It seems like the images from the first post were deleted, so I can't see where exactly this issue occurred.

If the issue exists when pasting external links, then this is a problem with the external servers where they claim to return UTF-8 (which we convert into the charset used by your forum) but the string isn't actually UTF-8, thus mangling the encoding.

If this is the case, there is nothing I can do about this, but without the information from the first post I can't say.
