Bug Odd issue

THE SHORT STORY:

What happened? The host I'm on just finished upgrading the servers & migrating accounts, after migration, I noticed something...

So I've had an issue with index.php saying "too many redirects" ( Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS))resulting in it not loading. Well today we found out that it stopped by commenting out this line. Why that was the case I do not know but I'm reporting this as a bug incase commenting that out breaks some features that I may not be aware of.

Code:
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ dbseo.php [L,QSA]

THE LONG STORY:
Here's the support thread about it.
Files seem to be intact but site wont load - OneSite - Web Enthusiasts Community

Doing that may break certain rewritten URLs, but if it works for you then it should be fine to leave it like that.

Is there anything that can be done to make it work normally? With that line commented out, it does break new threads after you land on the resulting thread. Quite annoying as I usually like to twitter share after I make a thread but I don't want it to link to the wrong url either.

Is there some php module or something that I should ask be enabled if I provide you with a list?

We have

MySQL-Version: 10.0.28-MariaDB
PHP-Version: 5.6.28

Code:
core mod_so http_core prefork mod_cgi mod_access_compat mod_actions mod_alias mod_auth_basic mod_authn_core mod_authn_dbm mod_authn_file mod_authn_socache mod_authz_core mod_authz_groupfile mod_authz_host mod_authz_user mod_autoindex mod_dbd mod_deflate mod_dir mod_expires mod_filter mod_headers mod_include mod_log_config mod_logio mod_mime mod_negotiation mod_proxy mod_proxy_fcgi mod_proxy_http mod_rewrite mod_setenvif mod_slotmem_shm mod_socache_dbm mod_socache_shmcb mod_status mod_unique_id mod_unixd mod_userdir mod_version mod_ssl mod_bwlimited mod_security2 mod_ruid2 mod_php5

Messed around with it some more. Turns out the module mod_security is to blame in this case. Is there any rewrite rules available to make dbseo play nice with mod_security (when you visit the root of a forum like http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/ for instance is when its noticable with mod security turned on) ?

We have mod_sec turned on here but a large amount of rules and rulesets disabled - I don't have a complete list for you but I would recommend inspecting your server's error log for the rule ID of the offending rule so you can disable it :)
