Question Default Loading - Section On Categories?

Is there any way to set the categories to load with default tabs? I'd pruned out some of the code, just to clean things up, and now... I'm stuck. I don't believe I'd removed anything critical, as everything was just at face.

In other words, is there a way to set the "Forums" setting from each category to not read as "N/A" and instead have selected forums?

I'm a little puzzled as to what you mean by cleaning out some of the code? Modifying the code means we can't offer support (this is different to modifying the templates) and that could have affected what your question is about.

I just removed the showing of the lower tabs. Ideally, I'd just wanted to have the top categories act as the only necessary section dividers, or... tabs. It seems though, that there's no actual way to assign sections to those heading categories. Is that... right?

The top tabs (or Category Tabs) are the containers for the other tabs. The code already has the ability to 'hide' the Category Tabs just leaving the bottom row to work with. Those can be assigned the forums.

Does that help?

It does, but it means I've made a pretty big mistake in removing the lower tabs. Is there absolutely no way to turn the top containers into usable tabs themselves?

Thanks!

I would recommend re-uploading the default files and reverting any template customisations.

No way at present to do so, and the way it's built I don't think there will be in the short term.

I'm struggling, though, to see why you would need to use the upper ones over the lower ones. If you want styling you probably can adjust the template easy enough. In terms of having adjusted the code in the files, you'll likely have issues every time you update.

So, I've reinstalled all of the plugins necessary uploads, as well as reuploaded the XML file... and...

Am I hooped?

Edit: I've tried creating new tabs, and then new categories, and the tabs fail to show up as selectable options.

EDIT: I... somehow fixed this by downloading the XML of the theme I'd been working on, uploading an older XML (thanks to making backups), and them merging the recently created backup into the old one. I can't believe it worked.

Phew, I'm glad it worked for you. Sometimes clearing the cache can help with little things like that.

So is everything working fine now?
