One pre-sale question:

1. This phrase:
Image paths are hidden through the php files,
Does the gallery create an unique URL to a given image -- something like Page not found or are the image files in attachment format like the traditional vB set-up?

Thanks,

Hi there,

Images are generated using /dbtgallery.php?do=view_image&imageid=X (or something to that effect), and the real path to the images is never exposed anywhere :)

The actual storage mechanism is an adaptation of vBulletin's attachment storage system.

Hope that helps :)

Would such a hack be possible?

Thanks for the quick reply. Ironically, I was hoping that your package didn't use the underlying architecture of the vB attachment storage system. I need a program that creates a hard URL to a specific image. I recognize that this is not what many users might want in a Gallery product. I am sure you are tired of hearing from PhotoPost Pro users by now, but is there some way of modifying your product that would enable the images of a specific usergroup to generate a hard URL for each photo? These images need to be displayable in cross platform elements on our sites and on external sites as well.

Thanks,

Mark

You can set the storage directory for the gallery to be inside your public_html directory, then create a script that splits the userid of the image's owner and sets a hard path that way.

That's the best advice I can give you, unfortunately :(
