Hi,

I installed vBAnalytics on 26/09 at around 8pm (GMT +7).

On 27/09, I could see data from 26/09, which I assume to be from 8pm until midnight.

On 28/09, I could see data from 27/09 but was expecting a big jump, instead only a little bit more traffic reported.

On 29/09 (today), the data for 28/09 is 0.

I also notice that on the dashboard I see this:

Yet if I click submit in options without touching anything, I get this:

What gives?

Update:

Just checked back at 12pm today and the stats seem to have updated and the 28th now shows up.

But there is still some weird behavior:

Dashboard view:

After clicking submit:

Why on one graph it shows over 750 visits for the 28th and on the other it shows 31 visits for the 28th?

Other days are also different.

And now I've found an error message. When selecting pages/visit I get the following error:

PHP Warning: mysqli_query(): (42S22/1054): Unknown column 'dbtech_vbanalytics_tracking_scripts.pages' in 'order clause' in ..../includes/class_core.php on line 1394

Along with:

Invalid SQL:

SELECT dbtech_vbanalytics_tracking_scripts.*, dbtech_vbanalytics_tracking_scripts.this_script
FROM dbtech_vbanalytics_tracking_scripts AS dbtech_vbanalytics_tracking_scripts

WHERE (dbtech_vbanalytics_tracking_scripts.dateline BETWEEN '1474477201' AND '1475168399') AND this_script != ''

ORDER BY dbtech_vbanalytics_tracking_scripts.pages/visit DESC
LIMIT 0, 20;

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'dbtech_vbanalytics_tracking_scripts.pages' in 'order clause'

I also notice that no matter which report I display I keep getting a "visits" graph which displays different data each time.

Can you give me the exact steps needed to reproduce that SQL error?

The original developer is no longer with the company and it's not my code, so I need to familiarise myself with the product for a bit before I can properly assist you, sorry about that :(

Sure.

1. I uploaded the files in the upload directory to my forum's root directory.

2. I imported the XML file through the forum's adminCP to install the plug-in.

3. I set permissions so that only Administrator and Moderator usergroups have access to vBAnalytics

4. I left all the settings to default except un-ticking "Community" Menu under vBAnalytics General Settings.

5. From the vBAnalytics report page (vbanalytics.php), under "Options", I pick "Pages/Visit" in the drop down menu and click submit.

And voila:

Hey, sorry about the delay :(

I've applied a hotfix to v1.2.1 that should resolve this issue. Can you let me know if this works for you?

This has fixed the error, thank you. However, it doesn't show any graph.

And I still don't understand the data:

If I click on "Forums" under In-Depth Analytics, below the results table, there is this "visits" graph:
- Why is this called visits?
- Why is it 0?
- Also what is this table (and all the others in all the reports) supposed to represent? Is the data presented differently in the paid version?

Is there some documentation explaining how those analytics work?

I'll look into whether I can replicate any missing graphs.

As for the questions regarding the data, it's very difficult for me to answer this. I can say that the Pro version does not display the data any different. I'll try to chase down the original developer for him to clarify this for you :)

I'm here.

Please allow me to 24 hrs to look into this for you. Due to unforeseeable circumstances I have been away from a computer when this popped up.

Visits is a term used to describe how many times content, in this case a forum, has been seen in a session. It is not a dbtech term. For in depth explanation, I suggest reading up on analytics and search engines.

There seems to be no graph in your first picture because you have not defined a metric. If this is incorrect please tell me which metric you are trying to view that do not show a graph.

I will look into why the data is zero.
