    Lightbulb Mobile Skin

I hope DB Staff will make vbulletin mobile skin.

This far i only know 2 mobile skins that exist on vb world :

    • Default vb mobile skin.
      Cons :
      • very heavy for mobile connection. Too "fancy", not suitable for mobile connection. Some people have very slow mobile connection so they need very minimal page design.
      • some things don't work, for example : can't give reputation, infraction (as far as i remember)
    • Dartho's lightweightmobile skin.
      Pros :
      • very light. So slow connection can access this.

      Cons :
      • Not all things are working, for example : no registration page, can't delete PM, etc.

I've tried both and this far i use Dartho's even though it is not perfect (see its cons), because it is lighter.

If dbtech makes a skin that :
    • Lightweight
    • Very minimal UI (no fancy things such as jquery)
    • Makes everything working (registration, etc)

You will lead mobile skin world
The market is very big.. Everyone (ok, most people ) need mobile skin.
    I love vb optimise

That really is something worth having, excellent mobile skin, with DBTech class of support, that supports moderation, quotes in PMs and many other things, but still very light.

    Yes, please. Pretty please.

Dartho's is fine, but it's almost too light. Hell, my phone almost has as high an internet connection as my desktop does. I don't need a mobile skin that's so scaled down it loses function (no ability to insert links or pictures? Come on.)

I can't get people to download Tapatalk. Which is fine on one hand since it loses functionality with DBTech mods (Like/Dislike, Gallery, etc.)

We need a skin that is compatible with mobile device screens and retains functionality of the site. It's more of a formatting issue than an internet speed issue.

For the love of all things good and gracious, someone make this happen.

It isn't hard to add reputation and other things into the mobile skin. I have it on mine, if I could put it into a plugin I would post it on .prg. Basically just create the templets needed and copy them from the full site version. Change some css and you have your features. You can do this with some mods as well, for instance I have the 8wayrun media mod running on mobile.

well not all VB users are tech savy and able to do template edit
dartho's has some missing parts such as incomplete usercp menu, can not delete private message, no registration page, and some other things that i forget.

I believe it would be in DBTech's interest for a solid-working theme that can be used for mobile users. The more folks I have that switch to Tapatalk, the less need I have to purchase Tapatalk-incompatible modifications. Which is too bad, not only for DBTech, but for me, too, because a good mobile-friendly theme plus a site with DBTech mods would beat Tapatalk any day.

Default Managing Director Post Staff Response

It's trickier than people realize to make a good mobile style. Choosing where to retain functionality vs speed is a thankless task that will get more curses and complaints than anything.

It's not on the to do list at the moment, but if there's enough demand that might change
