VbDownloads flies storage

PreSale question:

Is VBDownloads store ALL uploaded files in one directory, for example /var/www/files/ or this script can store files in misc directories, e.g. /var/www/files/cat_num(or catname)(or date)(or smth else)/ ?

I plan to create archive with a lot of small files and I know, that more than 2000 files in one directory can create a lot of problems with server loads and(or) FTP backups

It stores all files in the same directory, there's no subdirectory structure unfortunately
