Im having a huge problem with vbulletin 4 resource usage on my dedicated server after upgrading. My site is huge, and every optimization would help. The pricing on the vBOptimise, what does the "1 year/25 years" mean, is that as long as I can use it?

It's regarding how long you will receive free updates and Priority Support for the modification. You can still run the modification for as long as you want, though :)
That goes for all DBTech products.

If your site is huge, vBOptimise will be a massive saving to your database at least. As you can see in our forum stats, our tiny little corner of the interweb has already raked up a seriously high number of queries saved :)

As long as you are under the program (1 year or 25 years) you will get support. Once you purchase the software, it's yours forever.

Thanks for the response, one more question. I currently dont have xCache (or any other) installed. Should I make an effort to get them installed or just go with the filecache?

Filecache is okay, but if you're on dedicated then using XCache or Memcache would be highly recommended to get the most out of vB Optimise :)

If you could get XCache installed by your host, it would be better than the Filecache.
That being said, file cache does do its job, and vBO will happily cache your stuff :)
