New Posts in Select Forums on Forum Home

[Captive Reefs]

I'm looking for a mod that shows new posts in selected forums as a block on forum home (not the sidebar). At one point when I was using vbAdvanced (when I had vb3.8) and basically had something like this.

Hopefully dbtech makes something that will work or someone can point me to a mod. I'm sure someone makes what I am looking for already.

This is so funny. I was about to post something like this myself. I am using VbShoutbox and my users rarely ever post in it but they use it for notifications of new threads, posts, reviews, classifieds, etc.

Reef I did some testing (which I have been meaning to do) and you can disable chatting and just use this as a notification system. You can name the box to whatever you want (see image) and you can choose which forums display notifications for new posts, replies or threads (see image)

Yeah...its a thought. I could play around with it to see if it would work for me.

My preference would be something I could format a little easier than the chats.

BTW- I was thinking that we hadn't touched base in awhile...I'll try to hit you up on skype one of these days.

I agree and I think something less resource intensive would be better as well, however, this is a good alternative and does what you are looking for in the mean time.
