1. Does DBSEO plan to be VB5 compatible?
It's highly doubtful we will release DBSEO for vB5. By default, vB5 is vastly superior to vB4 in terms of SEO, not only by their URL structure but also HTML structure (which DBSEO is unable to help with). There is simply no reason to have a vB5 version, bar URL structure compatibility. This can be solved with redirects anyway :)

2. Can my forum configuration be imported"
a. URL word separator: -
b. Max words in URL: 3
b. Thread pagination: [forum_title]/[thread_title]-t[thread_id].html (custom)
The Pro version allows you to import vBSEO's URL configuration (which I assume is what you're referring to). It also allows you to manually customise the URL configuration beyond the normal options.

3. Control over meta description for threads: use x number of the first words in the first post.
I don't believe this specific configuration is available.

Sounds good, I found VBSEO worked well so guess this would work even better.
Do you have to disable the VBSEO plug in after you've used the importer or before?

dbseo is a vbseo replacement so you'll have to disable vbseo once imported.

I thought it was disable the VBSEO first, then install the dbseo, then do the import with the import tool, that's what I understood from this post:
If you want to import from vBSEO, you will need to disable vBSEO in the ACP, alter your .htaccess file to replace vbseo with dbseo, install DBSEO, run the importer from the DBSEO AdminCP.

Then, once you've confirmed everything is working how you want it to, you can feel free to uninstall vBSEO and remove its files.

The exact order doesn't matter, but the order I posted means there's less chance for conflicts.

Hi,

Me again :). Still didn't buy although I want to, the only thing that stops me is the lack of meta description control.
Has this been added to DBSEO by any chance?

Thank you.

You are able to edit each thread and control the meta description from there :)
