Thread: Item Shop Modification (Like iShop)

I noticed a few Shop request threads, and thought about posting in one of them about this.. but considering the huge differences I feel a separate thread would be better for this idea.

You guys seem to be the best team for vB4 modifications, and I've personally been testing a lot of your products and am very pleased. I noticed you plan a Shop mod comparable to vBplaza, etc.. but I'm curious about something else.

I've been a big fan of the iShop modification for the 3.x series and would love a newer, properly coded, up to date system for what iShop can do. I've thought about migrating over to a "Gift/Award" system, but that really doesn't seem to work for most iShop setups.. Which is why I'm requesting this!

I know of a few vB sites that already use the iShop modification and refuse to update because that kind of mod isn't available on vB4 yet and most likely won't be since the developer hasn't been active in quite some time, and my site is one of them.

So if a separate modification is out of the question, maybe a more advanced gift system for your shop plans(with a possible importer for ishop items)? To somewhat.. mirror what's capable in iShop, for example.. Stocking, Categories, maybe even a Gift Search option?

I'd gladly purchase a pro version for such a mod~ =)

We do intend to have support for a Gifts feature, it will be displayed in profiles and in postbit - the postbit display will be similar to what you see for vBA Awards and Achievements in the postbit atm

We will also look into releasing an importer from iShop, though it will sadly not be ready for the initial release.

I figured that'd be the current plan for the Gifts option.. Think it'd be possible to work in categories/stocks sort of like iShop?

There won't be a Stock option at first, and probably not in v1.1 either (it depends on how much time we intend to allot to it, but as you may have noticed we have an RPG style product that's begging to be worked on ), but it will indeed work with categories
