Is there anyway to port the v3 to v4? I would happy to repurchase it. I have had a lot of fun with RPG inferno. The forumon is just not as fun.

Way to bring up a ancient thread, should of just made a new one man. In my honest opinion, i think rpg inferno as it was then was better than the current state forumon is in now. I think the biggest problem is scott is not a part of the group anymore and he did a large portion of rpg inferno, so they needed a fresh idea and by learning how things went with RPG infero they wanted it to be easier to setup. RPG Inferno had so much potential though and i would prefer it over forumon anyday, and sadly i don't think we will be seeing much changes to forumon. I think if they revamped forumon to be what it intended to be, it would grow bigger but it is a lot of work on their end and more and likely they don't see any value they would receive by investing what needs invested into it.

So unfortunantly we won't see a revamp of RPG Inferno, and i highly doubt we will see forumon any better than what it is now, even though RPG Inferno was better imo in a lot of ways.

I thought it would be better to keep on the discussion than create a new thread.
I actually don't care much about innovation. The old RPG inferno was already great. They can just port it from vbulletin 3 to vbulletin 4. Thats all I was going to say. I paid $100 for it b4 and don't mind paying again if it work as good as b4 or better.

I think if they could of they would of which would of saved them a tremendous amount of time, the problem is scott is no longer part of the team and he was the major factor behind RPG Inferno. I don't know the whole story in detail as it is none of my business but let's just say 2 people had a disagreement and both went separate ways. It's not that they are unable to update RPG Inferno, it's that RPG Inferno is not theirs to update and profit from. There are a couple or so devs here that were a part of the RPG Inferno project that could be more precise as what i have said might not be accurate, but i been around this lot for sometime and that is just what i got from all of this.

You might be right about RPG inferno is not their product to get any profit from. But they can at least profit from porting a dead product. I still remember getting RPG Inferno support from Cosmic in GZevolution I think. I forgot their old website. It's ok to bring up a dead product, and may be to make minimal profit from the work of porting so it will be vbulletin 4 compatible. I have asked around some ppl to port it but none was able to. I think Cosmic is capable of doing the porting with the least time.

Cosmic/Cosmic was a major part to RPG Inferno, and yea he could update it easily to work with vb4. As i said, he may just not have those rights to do it, scott might have the copyrights to RPG Inferno as i am sure scott copyrighted it and so dragonbyte could get sued for rereleasing RPG Inferno under their name. It's just not something that is gonna happen unfortunately, however even though i liked RPG Inferno more than Forumon, if forumon had more work done to it it could be comparable at least. The problem is it did not live up to RPG Inferno which greatly hurt the potential forumon could of been, but i think if they added a equipment feature or some method of upgrading the creatures (Like i have suggested to them a equipment feature like with darkspore where you can add parts to them to make them more powerful, but they don't like that idea), a questing system as they were beginning to add at the end of RPG Inferno's life, and a pvp system then i think i could be satisfied with forumon.

I see your point right there. Anyway, I'm writing to let any1 who read this read know that I'm willing to pay if some1 can port the RPG Inferno v3 gold from vbulletin to fully working on vbulletin 4. Privately is ok, too. Just PM me.

Hi Guys,
I'm still seriously looking forward to a port of rpg inferno v3 gold to vbulletin 4.0. I have a rpg inferno package that doesn't require key to install from Zero Tolerance before he quit. If any one have the ability to make the port for vbb 4.0. Please contact me, i would gladly compensate for your work.

Thank you

if anyone happens to have the files for rpg inferno gold 3 and a licence that would be either willing to let me use it or sell it please pm me

Doing so would technically be illegal. That being said the copyright is jointly held by myself and one other individual (Zero Tolerance). I have no problem with you using it, but he might.

Basically I won't be pursuing you legally for using it, but I can't speak for him.

Hi Cosmic,

I'm so glad to finally hear from you, the famous rpg inferno creator. Is there any way if I could get in contact with Scott (Zero Tolerance)?
I really want to have a working version on vbulletin 4 by porting/converting. It doesn't have to have new features. I'm willing to compensate for your work.

Thank you

I don't have any active contact details for Scot, sorry :(.

A vB4 version of RPG inferno would almost have to be recoded from scratch, so unless someone commissions it as custom work, it probably won't get done. We would want to get Scot's sign off on it as well, which could also be tricky since we're not in contact with him any more.

I see. I have a version that Scot gave me before he quit, which doesn't require license number. Would it be ok to use it and custom for v4?

I have no problems with it. Customising it for yourself for vB4 would also be fine, even under the initial license agreement terms. Releasing it wouldn't be. I would also object to you releasing a customised version.

I would love to customized it for vbb4 if I have the skill. Is there anyway if you could help me with that? I won't release it to public and I will compensate you for helping.

That would be a question for Fillip H., but it's worth noting that the cost of something like this would be four figures at least.

We'd need more details regarding what, specifically, you're looking at having done with it, but four figures is a highly conservative estimate in either case.
