My forum started almost as instantly as I bought these mods. They were both in at pretty much the beginning.

The biggest benefit of purchasing dbtech mods is their support. I can’t stay enough about their support in comparison to everything else out there.

They are, by far, the FASTEST when it comes to support. They will jump over hoops to make sure your mods work on your forum as intended. I absolutely love this. Dbtech should pay me referral fees for all the people who come across my forum and go right to dbtech for the mods. All my “competitors” have either installed or purchased these mods. I have no shame in wearing their copyright measures at the bottom to help promote the business.

Mods I have:

Postbit Tabs
Decent Mod. Needs a few more things, but it works great and I have no real complaints. I love the ease of use and not template edits. Thank you :D

Mentions/Quotes:
This is a must have. When I go to a forum that doesn’t have these I lose interest. I’m spoiled by the ability to get notifications. It brings me right to what I want, and what I’m reading. I don’t have to search. I barely use the “subscribed” ability anymore to find content I want to participate in. Support for this mod is always quick.

VBO:
This is a MUST HAVE. It has guest caching, cdn support, etc. I mean, it’s amazing. It shaves off time, queries, etc. and works well with xache, vbseo, and my CDN. Get this. Seriously. Varnish is an awesome product for guest caching, but the plugin doesn’t work for vbulletin and it’s not being supported. This is an excellent and EASY product to use in comparison. My only qualm is that there were so many more amazing things that they had planned, but no real major updates since Deceptor went away.

Likes:
I don’t use this anymore. It has some awesome features, but it’s not as capable as the VBSEO like. It doesn’t prioritize content like vbseo, and I like the placement a lot better. I did love the ability to have more than just a like, but it was really trivial and fluff. I would use this product again if they could match vbseo (or make it better than vbseo).

Vbquiz:
My members loved this mod when I had it activated. It’s not activated atm because I’m waiting the new release and I have to finish tidying up quizzes. I don’t want to put up crappy quizzes. Otherwise, this is an awesome product. It’s a little hard to use, but I know Dylan is working on making it even better. I honestly believe that Dylan could code vbquiz to make me coffee if he wanted to. I know a few of the things planned for the future and it just looks better and better.

InfoPanels/Top Stats:
This really needs an update. I don’t use the info panels anymore because members felt it was gaudy and completely unnecessary. People loved the top stats, but the functionality for it isn’t all there. I’m still using the other top stats feature by another coder that was made and hasn’t been updated in months (maybe even a year). Dbtech’s has other functionality that I really like, but the main functionalities that I use don’t even match up. It has been said to be in the plans, but I’ve had this mod for almost a year and it hasn’t reached the potential I hoped it would. I have been waiting patiently.

VBMoods/Status:
The moods stopped working. Too many headaches. I just got rid of it. The time saved on content page loading from the images not being there was nice (they even loaded when they weren’t showing).

VBShop:
I just finished updating this mod and it looks incredible. I’m not sure how well the rest of the forum will take to it, but it has a lot of potential. The navigation of the page numbers is wacky and not intuitive. Everyone who has played with it on mys ite is like, “well that’s kinda dumb.” Minus that, everything seems to be working as intended. This has to be the best shop mod out there.

VbCredits:
This is hands down the best credits mods out there. Everyone who wants to make a credits mod looks at this one for inspiration and then dies off realizing it will never happen. The best. Must have.

Vbactivity:
This is a fun mod that has inspired people to post to win the awards. No complaints.

Random Questions:
This mod hasn’t been updated in a century. It looks like Windows 95 compared to all the other mods. It took forever to get support and fix issues with it. Hasn’t been a priority it seems.

Triple Triad:
Another mod that seems to have died off, especially since they can’t use the FFX graphics. Thankfully I got the mod beforehand so I have graphics. I haven’t finished playing with it and putting it out in the public for use since it’s not a priority mod here, and not a priority mod on my forum as well.

Vbdownloads:
Haven’t used this. It needs to be combined with a “Video” mod so that we can stream videos.

The staff:

Cosmic

This man knows his stuff. Business man, true and true. I’m 100% behind his brand and his vision. I think he needs to write articles for premium users and spread that brain around of his. Maybe even a forum section where people can talk about bettering their forums using the mods, and his ideas on making all of our forums better.

Fillip H.

Lightning quick. I don’t even know how he does it. I swear this guy has every post on alert. I think he has his phone and computer attached to his body and gets an electric shock every time someone posts.

Dylan

I love this guy. He could code up a coffee machine to print you articles if you needed him too. He definitely puts the customer first and I have worked with him several times to better products. “Oh you want this? Yea I can do that.” *bam*

Darkwaltz4

I love this guy too. He has bent over backwards to help me fix issues and show me how to use products. He can be slow sometimes in his responses, but he gives quality ones. I’m excited about his arcade coming out and I will purchase it asap.

David

This guy may be overworked or something. I start to lose faith in a lot of mods that he supports (and he seems to support a lot of them). From my POV, he’s a tad slow and it may be because he’s spread so thin. I was excited about the notifications system but now I’m hesitant from having to wait for support on other mods (Random Questions which made me the most mad). I have notifications pending in my cart, but it’s missing features I want and I’m worried about paying for a lifetime membership (cuz for me it’s lifetime or no time).

Ozzy47

Brilliant Addition to staff. He answers questions and goes through issues that the main coders aren’t really needed for. Fast. Very fast. He goes far and beyond what’s needed or even required. At first I thought he was a waste of space since he wasn’t coding any new products, but I see the value now. Support, support, support.

Overall? I give Dbtech a 95/100.

I have played with 100s of mods for vbulletin. You’re almost wasting your time with them since 99% of them lose support, have bugs, are poorly coded, have security issues, etc. On top of that, a lot of the coders stop giving a crap if your mod doesn’t work. My reviews may have seen poor for David but he’s still better than most of the coders out there. Also, I don’t trust anyone but dbtech entering my ftp.

I’m so spoiled by dbtech that I recently joined another vbulletin mod group (or one guy) and I was very uneasy and everything seemed sketchy. He has mods that dbtech doesn’t and they were things I felt I needed. I finally convinced him to follow dbtech’s model and learn from someone who has succeeded and things have gotten A LOT better.

If you want to waste a lot of time and aren’t serious about your forum, then I would just play around at vbulletin.org. If you’re serious about your forum, then you will come to dbtech first and pick up the essentials. They take care of you.

Oh, and Deceptor needs to come back.

I like all products of DBTech, the best MOD which I have been purchased 10 products for my site:

  • vBShout Pro
  • vB Optimise Pro
  • Advanced Post Thanks / Like Pro
  • vBActivity & Awards Pro
  • InfoPanels Pro
  • vBNotifications Pro
  • Postbit Tabs Pro
  • Advanced user Tagging Pro
  • Random Questions Pro
  • vBShop Pro

I to have tried just about every mod on vB.org and for the most part they do fall short in the support department. Either it is due to security issues, bugs, or just plain out coded wrong.

Yes I was happy to join DBTech as the team here is top notch, and the most helpful out there.

Their is someone that you left out in your post though, yourself and all the other users of DBT Products.

Without their support, and wanting the top of the line products for their forums, this site would not be as it is.

So I say hats off to everyone that installs and uses DBT mods, and helps to keep this site and it's products above and beyond the rest!!
