Don´t really know how to start.
Let me put it that way:
I have no problem to support coders by displaying a backlink to their sites in the footer. In your case I would even display a footer on all sites, not only the ones driven by your mods. But there is a big issue with the way you handle the copyright footer.
Carefully spoken, I was a little bit surprised about the pure dominance of your copyright footer:
That´s an incredible huge one - the longest copyright footer I´ve ever seen -, occupies nearly 2/3rd of my sites width and ruins every sites footer, which have a custom footer and makes it impossible for site owners to make use of footer reworks and customization. There has to be another way, cause this one is not only annoying me - that will annoy my users too. The last thing I want to happen by a mod, that should attract visitors. Even more, because my site language is german.
True, in the product decription your pointing out, that this mod will display a copyright footer. But hey..this one is insane and limits site owner in there options how they can change the layout of their sites in an inappropriate way. You really shouldn´t expect from your customers, that they have to accept that they aren´t no longer free to choose how they can modify the layout of their sites, when they want to use modifications by DBTech. Or you should make this point absolutly clear in the descriptions on the product pages.
Could´t you just leave us customers the option to have a copyright link like :
Would solve the whole problem and both sides get, what they need.
Since a week I am overhowling my site and I am also working on a footer, where the copyrights nest in a <td><tr> . What shall I do know? Throw that out of the window because your copyright doesn´t allow to fit in my layout?
Hope that all doesn´t sound rude. But my english isn´t that fluent, that I could express myself as I can in my own language.
Edit: Title of the thread is wrong. First I was thinking something would violate EU law but the Analytics-push isn´t an issue and complies with EU-law. May be someone could edit the title please. Thanks.
