Thread: vBShout v6.0.0 (Beta) Released!

DragonByte Tech is proud to present the first beta of the new vBShout v6.0.0! As always, our Beta versions are for Pro customers holding current licences only, before trickling out to Lite users later.

The main changes are listed beneath the feature list, in the asterisk explanations.

Without further ado, here's the complete changelog for vBShout v6.0.0 Beta 1!

vBShout v6.0.0:
Feature: /banlist command that lists all currently banned users
Feature: Shouts Per Page (Archive) is now a separate per-instance setting
Feature (Pro): /silencelist command that lists all currently silenced users
Feature (Pro): It is now possible to filter the Archive by chatroom
Feature (Pro): Users who can moderate a shoutbox can now create threads in an admin-defined forum from Archive searches
Feature (Pro): Additional notification options for various vBActivity & Awards events are now available
Feature: Sounds are now handled by the HTML 5 <audio> tag. *
Feature: New shouts will now fade in using a fast animation
Feature: Double-clicking shouts / stickies to edit them will now fade in the Cancel / Delete buttons using a fast animation
Feature: Cancelling shout / sticky edits will now fade out the Cancel / Delete buttons using a fast animation
Feature: Deleting a shout will now fade it out using a fast animation
Fix: The "New Shout" sound will no longer pop once a minute even if there are no new shouts.
Fix: The "New Shout" highlight will no longer trigger once a minute even if there are no new shouts.
Fix: Banned users should no longer show up in the list of banned users.
Change (vB3): Now uses proper editor buttons instead of the <input> elements with an asterisk for selected shout styles
Change: Fetching shouts no longer requires the security token to be valid. **
Change: The "New Shout" sound will no longer pop for actions users perform, even if there are new shouts.
Change: The "New Shout" highlight will no longer trigger for actions users perform, even if there are new shouts.
Change: The "New Shout" sound will no longer pop for notifications in the "System Messages" and "Notifications" tabs.
Change: The "New Shout" highlight will no longer trigger for notifications in the "System Messages" and "Notifications" tabs.
Change: vBShout is now powered by jQuery 1.7.1! ***

I've heavily modified my shoutbox to match my custom vBulletin template so will upgrading to v6 break it?

I believe all CSS classes stayed the same, but pretty much all id="dbtech_shoutbox_" have been removed and replaced, so hopefully your CSS does not rely on IDs

You can use the checkboxes to select a number of shouts and then make a thread from those shouts - useful if, for instance, an important discussion took place in the shoutbox, or if there is a debate going on in there a moderator feels should be part of a thread, or if a support issue is resolved in the shoutbox that would be useful to have a permanent record of etc.
