Thread: vBDownloads Open Beta, Schedule Updates, Future Plans

This week the big announcement is the open beta of our vBDownloads mod. After a period of closed beta testing turned up no significant issues we are opening up the testing to any interested parties. Currently it is only available for vBulletin 4.0.x, a 3.x version is incoming shortly, and we are looking to have a XenForo version in the next 4 weeks.
The mod comes up some great features such a multi-file downloads, the ability to download all files in a zip, file ratings, password protected files, private files and much much more! The price of a beta licence is currently available at the reduced price of $59.95. This gives you access too all pro features and lifetime updates for the product. Upon gold release a lifetime license will be a little more expensive.

To respond to the XenForo speculation: We -will- be developing mods for XenForo, but we will still support our vBulletin products and vBulletin customer base in full.

We will be aiming to port all of our mods to Xenforo over the coming months.

You will *not* have to re-purchase at full price any modifications you wish to use on XenForo. At the moment, the plan is to charge a small fee (likely $5) to switch any licenses you have for vBulletin over to XenForo when we port the product. This is, unfortunately, necessary due to the increased support volume the switch is likely to bring (questions on how to make the mod do certain things on XenForo, people who have issues exporting/importing data etc).

There are two "maybes" for this month (vBQuiz and new version of vBCredits) but they depend on the schedules of @Deceptor and @Darkwaltz4 . Deceptor especially tends to be pulled in several directions (he handles most of the optimisation for all of our mods, as well as being the dev team leader and helping the others where they need it). The Quiz mod is his project so it depends on what other duties he has to perform this month.
