Default Advanced Post Thanks / Like v3.0.0 (Beta 1) Released

      Hey all,

Hot on the heels of the major update to Advanced @user Tagging we bring you this latest feature update: Advanced Post Thanks / Like v3.0.0 (Beta 1), now available for our Pro customers only.

Many of you have requested email notifications both for AUT and APTL, and with the advent of v3 of both mods it's finally available for both mods. You'll receive an email whenever a button has been clicked, and it can of course be disabled via your UserCP (or globally, by the admin) should you choose to do so.

Another exciting update is the fact that the mod has finally stepped out of its comfort zone of dealing with only posts, vB Blogs and the excellent upcoming DragonByte Gallery by @Dylan leading the charge. Steps had to be taken to make the mod more friendly towards multiple content sources, and we await your feedback regarding the performance of this update.
Based on customer feedback, the interface used in integration actions drops the "thanks bar" and the borders. HIDE tags are not implemented in any of the new integration areas, due to the complexity of re-loading the different content sources without impacting performance.

Our vB4 users will be happy to know that the Post Colouring feature has been vastly improved, now allowing you to pick which part of a post should be coloured. Furthermore, the Forum Block widget has been vastly improved, with support for viewing the Top X Recent and Top X Clicked of multiple buttons, chosen via a handy drop-down menu.

Avid users of the HIDE tags will be pleased to know that it is now possible to specify one or more buttons to be the "default" button when posting a post with HIDE tags, or posting attachments. Previously, members would be unable to hide content via the Quick Reply, forcing them to click Go Advanced, find the specific form element, tick the box, then submit their post. This is no longer the case, and any HIDE tags will use the admin-chosen default button to require clicks for content and/or attachments.

Advanced Post Thanks / Like v3.0.0 (Beta 1)

      • (vB4) You can now choose what portions of the postbit should be coloured via the colour thresholds.
      • (Pro) Email notifications (can be disabled globally) on a per-button basis

When I say "Hotfix Released" it means you should re-download the product and re-upload the files.

      Great update.

      What about this suggestions?
      • We have Click Limitation => The number of clicks per day allowed.
Could that be improved by limitation - number of clicks allowed in X minutes (configurable by each usergroup, with whitelist and blacklist)? (Link)

      • Give us choice to select number of click limitation by usergroup (Link)

I hope that APTL bar stay where it is, or at least we have option to put back where it is from v1.00

We will make further improvements to the features in future versions

Rest assured that we'd never alter existing functionality / design unless it was a complete re-design and older design was incompatible with the new - I can't think of a single example of that having happened in DBTech's history thus far

I have one question about email notifications.

We could disable them, but can we leave them enabled, but set default state of them? For example, I want to allow my users to receive email notifications, but they are disabled in their accounts by default. They need to enable them if they want to receive emails? Or, if I want to, I could make them enabled, so users which don't want to receive emails must disable email notifications?

That is not currently possible no, and it's extremely challenging to do so to any reliable degree.

There's a multitude of ways to create a user, not all of which follow established vBulletin standards. Unfortunately I don't feel confident that I'd be able to address every single scenario to the point where we could call it "working as intended"

Ninja Edit: That being said, both AUT and APTL respect the Usergroup permissions for ability to send email to the recipient, as well as the recipient's choice to receive emails from forum members and/or administrators

In short, if they unticked any of those boxes during registration, AUT and APTL would remain silent
