How will the impending release of 4.2 and its new features affect some of the great DBT mods, namely Navtabs and Live Stream?

We're not entirely sure yet, plus there's general functionality questions - whether mods coded for 4.x will still work with 4.2 - it seems to be a larger step than 4.1 was to 4.0.

And how do you and your team deal with things like this? Personally I think VB have too many updates..Or rather unnecessary one's, or given the calibre of the developers why are they still updating..It's annoyance for both vb customers and the guys as yourselves who to be honest keep vb going..For me I'm sick to death of seeing vb updates...I should just revert back to vb3 and enjoy what we had..

It's getting quite expensive these days to keep vb 4 going and the constant updates become problamatic for your everyday vb user..About time they realised that changing the structure on an update has severe consequencies in various ways..Great for mod developers, not so good for the vb customer.And the scenario is becoming more and more regular..

If we have to separate 4.0/4.1 and 4.2 like we separate 3.8 and 4.x at the moment, then that could prove to be a logistical issue for future development. We might have to drop vB3 support altogether, even for existing mods.

Do keep in mind that this is purely and 100% speculation, I haven't had the chance to look into 4.2 or test DBTech mods with it, so I have no actual idea of how it will play out. I'm hoping to have time over this week to check it out, though

as this is old news a lot has been added since this post ...Ozzy put out navtabs for 4.2 as well i am sure the db team will chime in ...

for me and i have 6.0.7 installed and works very well on 4.2 i had no issues what so ever ....

make a post in the proper section and i am sure Belazor will get you fixed up

Yeah this is a very old thread that should almost be closed.
For your information however, all of my DBT mods that I had pre 4.2 work on both of my sites that have been running 4.2 for some time now.

Post your problems you are having in the proper section and these great guys will get you fixed up, you have my word.
