We run also i kinda large site on the same server. The owner got a pc cooling shop thats running really good and its kinda big to. Allot of pictures.

But we are alone on the server.

The most members online in one day was 202, 11 juni 2010.
We got around the 30/40 members online at the time. With around the same amount of quest.

Does the dragonbyte addons ask allot from the database? Because i had a database error that we had to much connections at the time.

Also when we turn of the forum for a min. And put it back online the forum is really fast again. And when we wait for 5 min the problem gets back really slowly. It will get slower and slower.

This also makes the site go slow.

Ow yea dont forget this. Server load gets up to 100%... When we turn the forum offline and back again the server load is normal.

I hope someone knows how to fix this problem!

Kind regards,

Dutch_Boy. forum.highflow.nl

vBSEO immediately stands out, it's using a highly inefficient method of producing and replacing its SEO URLs that has been known to cause load.

That being said, the other addons shouldn't be causing load, though you can try setting Auto Idle on for the most active usergroups. vBShout -> Instance Management -> Edit Permissions :)

You might find using our vBoptimise might help speed up your forums, give our LITE version a go and see if that helps. if your happy with it you can always upgrade to Pro later. also from past experience "member who have visited" can take up a fair few resources and will get pretty resource intensive if you have big forums with lots of members, you might want to swap "Todays top posters" for our version called DB-Tech Infopanels as our version is pretty damn nice :) and can be set to only fetch data after X amount of time which can reduce server load.

hope that helps you a bit more.

Installed vB Optimise without any problem. Only the forum slow problem is not completely fixed. Gonna remove " member who have visited" mod and put shoutbox on idle after 3 min. Hope this will fix it.

Is it possible to attack our forum via quest? Few days ago i saw allot of quests they where looking at the same topic :S But the IP was different. With allot i mean around 5/10 quests. Kinda strange and they stayed on that topic for a long time. Around 30 min.

Do you mean you have a lot the other big shop on the same server as you, or do you mean they're on a VPS on the same server as you?

If they're not on a VPS seperate to yours, then if they have a hit at about the same time you have a lot on your site, it will slow down. My current site managed to bring my shared hosting server to a crawl so much so I had to move to VPS to allow the other sites to regain even some of their speed.

No we are alone on the server. There is no other site on the same server.

But we just found out that vB Orginiser wassend running at its top. There was a problem with one of the settings. We fixed it and for now the forum is running pretty fast. Just turned on all the mods and hope it keeps on running as normale.

And in a week of 2 we move to our own server. Owner both a brand new one and a really good one. So no more problems then :). Around 300 GB free room and 2 TB backup space :p
