How does mention work i only get this if i hit the mention button [MENTIONS*][/MENTIONS*] without the star so can someone please help me on this Thanks

I moved this to the correct forum, you posted this in vBActivity pro support.

You add a @ before the username to mention them.

Like this, @Erica

[MENTIONS=Ozzy47][/MENTIONS]hmm and this speaker i see here when replying to a thread or post how come you get a popup menu to tag cause i just get code mention or is this speaker not for the mention .

I don't see a speaker pop up when replying to a post or thread, only thing I see pop up is the auto save with vBulletin's new cKEditor

If you could take a screenshot when you see the speaker.

I do believe it is supposed to be, but if it is, it don't appear to be working, @Fillip H. will have to look into this and see.

I actually don't know what that button does... I have been testing and looking how to use that button, but without luck...
If it should do the mention thing, then I (personally) think that there's something wrong with the BBCode attached to it...
as the BBcode is "MENTIONS" instead of "MENTION"

EDIT:
[MENTIONS=164]Ozzy47[/MENTIONS]

Thanks i am still wondering if it's Part of the Mention Mod here cause it dont do nothing when hitting it.

Ok seems that it must be a bug i been playing with the button Mention for over and hour and it seems not to do what it suppose to do.

That's an issue with the new CKEditor, the correct syntax is MENTION=userid] username that's a link to profile [/MENTION (obviously including brackets.

You don't need to use the button anyway :)

I think I've got a fix... (for if you really want to use that button)
On my (test-)site I have the BBCode set up as followed:
mention.jpg

In a post, when you click that button, it will show as [ MENTION][/MENTION ] (without the spaces)
so just put the username between it. for example: [ MENTION]Valcav[/MENTION ] (without the spaces)
that will show then as Valcav ,
when you then click edit it will show like (for example) this:
mention2.jpg

That's cool, but it seems like a awful lot of work, rather than just using @ before the username.

yeah I know...
But, you don't have to do everything that I put in previous post....

The only thing I was saying is that I edited the Mention BBCode (to what you can see in the first screen-shot...)
And that it then works (at least for me...).
Click on the BBCode, type the user-name. and voilà... There is the mention of that user then...

Everything else about editing the post isn't necessary...

Actually it alreadys comes that way the bbcode on my site didn't have to change it so the button actually does work on my site with vbulletin 4.1.5 and latest usertag.
