How can I get to the archive? It's enabled in settings, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, and neither can my users/

Thanks!

top of your chat box you have a dropdown option you can see it working on this site if you had the pro version you could do it the way it is on here

Wait, it is or isn't accessible in the 'lite' version? You seem to be saying it's available as a drop-down box, but imply that it's the full version.

Because I have no drop-down box on my site.

Thanks for the reply!

edit the instance1/ option section scroll to the bottom of it you should see the option there. Then go to your shoutbox at the top of it you should see the name shoutbox or whatever you called it there you will see a drop down arrow. If you still cant find it then post a screenshot of your shoutbox so i can see

Thanks, Force.

In instance management, when I edit the instance, anything that indicates a permission for the archive is selected for the appropriate usergroups. Registered users, Mods and admins all have 'can view archive'.

Up near the name of the instance, I have no drop-down menu. See attached.

not sure if you will be able to see this
vBulletin.org Forum
see the arrow next to the word shoutbox on the header of the shoutbox. If you dont see this then staff will need to help you

Unfortunately, there is no arrow anywhere.

I can look through sitebuilder to see if there's something there, but I see no option that would enable or disable the presence of the menu or the archive.

As I don't have vb5 never knew that so now you have the answer. I thought you messed up the install as it was not showing for you

Unfortunately there is no archive in the vB5 version at this time.

Why not?

Seems like a standard feature...a feature included in your vB4 version, even.

This does seem to be the trend with vB5...newer software with less functionality than the last version. Awesome.

I think its something about the way vb5 is coded that it does not show or cant be added yet but I am sure staff will tell you why soon

When vBShout was first converted to vB5, vB5 did not support the ability for custom modifications to create their own pages.

This support was delayed for many months, and by the time it was added, we had already noticed a significant lack of interest for the vB5 versions of our mods. Our most popular vB5 modification has 92.24% fewer licenses sold than its vB3/vB4 version.
Some of that can be attributed to the missing features, sure, but the majority is attributed to the bad reputation vB5 has gotten due to word of mouth.

Add this to the fact that vB5 is currently in a "state of flux", meaning that they are working very hard on improving the code base and making it more modification-friendly, any work we do on vB5 just now will most likely have to be (at least partially) re-done later down the line.
Compare this with vB4, which has been rock solid and stable (in terms of changes needed for modifications) since 4.0.8, with two small exceptions (4.2.0 - Navigation Manager / 4.2.2 - Exposing coding standard flaws).

In summation, we can't dedicate our full resources to vB5 at this time, unfortunately.
