All functions for user name change work fine, except when the user hits "SAVE" on his profile.

The screen clears and goes white, followed by the word DONE generated by the browser.

If the user clicks on any forum function after that, that function and the forum itself works normally. The same thing also happens under the ModCP function except the white screen appears within the ModCP screen to the right of the left panel.

When the user name changed is checked, it appears to have been updated fine and even the history record of the changes appears in tact, so I suspect that the mod simply isn't returning to the previous screen after it completes its actions successfully.

Doug

Are you 100% sure it's caused by this mod, because this mod does not override vBulletin's default return URL.

Please check your Apache's error logs and see if any errors were generated but hidden.

Checked and last error was over a week ago ...

If I simply hit SAVE altering any other data as opposed to the user name field (ie: without putting any data into it) the function works fine and returns to the Edit Profile screen.

Maybe it's a bug in your vBulletin version, which is getting rather dated at this point. Would it be possible for you to upgrade to 4.1.2 and then try again?

No, as we have a lot of mods that may stop working if we upgrade. Our site is highly functional for what we use it for, which is a not-for-profit research collectors site, where the average age is probably 55+ ... :D

It cost use almost $2500 to get it upgraded by a vBulletin programmer from v3.6 to v4.04, including our mods...

So, if it ain't broke don't fix it, as they say .... ;)

Regards,
Doug

But it IS broken, otherwise this thread wouldn't be here :p

Naw but seriously, not sure if there's anything I can do about it then tbh :(

Wise guy ... :p

Ok, I hear you, but if it works without the mod installed, or with it as long as you don't fill in the new user name data field, isn't vBulletin just going to claim it's the add-on causing the problem and not their code?

Regards,
Doug

Oh I wasn't suggesting you open a support ticket xD

I merely said that it's possible that there's some conflict with that particular vB version since we've had no other reports of similar issues arising :)
