Threadmins and Group Moderators v2.0.0 (Beta) Released!

Hi everyone,

Tonight sees the first beta of version 2 of User Threads... and a slight change to it's name. Two key features will be added and expanded on in the coming beta releases, firstly Thread Admins (Threadmins for short) and Group Moderators.

Threadmins allows any user to have custom moderator permissions added to any thread on the forum. The moderator functions are restricted to that thread (and any others they may have moderator rights to) and are a great testing ground for training moderators, or for allowing greater control over threads (especially when users other than the thread starter need control over the posts, etc). Threadmins is ready and active in this release. Feel free to ask to have moderator permissions granted in this thread to see for yourself. The request for this feature was by Malik Khalaf who referred back to an old mod on vb.org called Threadmins... as I researched the features of the mod and how to incorporate the idea I found out that Fillip H. was behind the original mod... so Fillip's help was invaluable in making this update possible.

Group Moderators is not complete for this release and will follow in a subsequent beta. Group Moderators is simply a way of assigning a usergroup to act as a moderator, thereby allowing all users within that usergroup to also act as moderators to a forum or area of the site. This will help solve all those complex moderator setups in one swift function. More details on the exact functionalities available will be released when it is ready for launch.

Naturally these two new features massively extend this mod, and so it gains a new name: Threadmins and Group Moderators (#T&GM).

There are some minor bug fixes as well that go into this update, as detailed below, one of which required the addition of a new feature allowing users using the User Threads features to have permissions to manage attachments or not.

Feature: Set permissions to Manage Attachments or not.
Feature: Thread Admin (Threadmin) permissions to allow users to moderate a single thread.
Fixed: Fixed an issue where user immunity was ignored in some checks.
Fixed: Typo in the dbtech_userthreads_select_forums phrase.
