Hello Dragonbyte Tech support,

I was planning to give the lite version a try before I get the pro one. I installed the Lite one, but it messed up my forum URLs making the forum die, CMS was active and working though. Anyone clicking the forum link from the homepage / cms page will get redirected to the homepage over and over.

I am using Mod Rewrite friendly which makes my forum as forums.domain.com/thread/thread-number-thread-name and CMS as www.domain.com/content/article-number-article-name

I want to use DBTech SEO to make the forums as:
forums.domain.com/forum-name/thread-number-thread-name

And the CMS as:
www.domain.com/article-name instead of www.domain.com/content/article-name

Best wishes,
M.Rizk

You need to disable the .htaccess rules from vBulletin, and also disable the Friendly URL generation (and Canonical URL generation) in the vBulletin Options.

As you are using the Lite version, you cannot customise your URL formats beyond the default provided values, but you can change this in the DragonByte SEO AdminCP.

But according to the list of features you listed for the Pro version in vBulletin.org that you only support custom domains for CMS and Blog which is unfortunately exactly the opposite of what I wanted :/

My website is a news based website so I don't need a custom domain for my CMS I need it to be the base URL, but forums need to be forums.domain.com but your add on makes it the base URL :/

Btw, there are some other features I really liked as the automatic keywords, can I make that work without enabling the URL rewrite, because once I enable the add on from AdminCP > DBTech CP it just screws everything, and if I don't enable it I don't think the keywords feature will work.

That's not what I meant. I mean the ability to customise the URL formats. You see how you currently have a selection of 2-5 options per URL format? The Pro version has a new option, "Custom", and then an input field where you can design your own URL formats.

You may need that in order to achieve the same URLs as vB's Mod Rewrite Friendly URLs, if similar URLs are not available by default.

Yeh I do know that on the Pro copy we can use a custom URL, but does that allow me to use a custom domain too? I can't think of any code or form to put for custom address to be exactly as what I have no. So please tell me. Is there a guaranteed way you know to achieve a custom domain using the custom URL form? Just say yes or no, no need for details. If yes I might really consider getting the add-on.

If not, I hope you add this feature in future.

Ah, I see what you mean now. There's currently no way to do that, unfortunately.

Feel free to start a feature request thread and we can take it into consideration for future versions :)
