Hi Fillip,
I am testing this out on my dev site for my classifieds forums.
I have a [Sold] status set as closed. Is this supposed to close the thread by design when selected? Right now it is not, unless I am missing something?
 
I am going to have to tag Fillip H. here, when I set the forum up I forgot to add it to the support system, it's all good now.
 
Nope, the closed status is independent of the thread.

When an issue is closed, it stops recording staff and member replies as the issue is considered solved and it shouldn't reflect badly on a staffer's response times if they are slow with responding to "Thanks for solving this issue!" posts by members.

That's the design philosophy behind the closed status :)
 
Can this thread status be changed then to a feature request to have an option of closing a thread on a chosen status.
 
Could you please post that as a feature request, as I said this thread was made before it was added to vBSupport, so no way to change the status.
