I really like this product and how it streamlines and customizes the registration process.

The people being invited are getting really confused on what to do when clicking the link in the email. They end up not be taken to the registration page so there for no one has followed through with the registration. I guess you could consider this a feature request that not only is the email verified but also sends them to the registration page.

When I became aware of this I tried to send myself an invite but now I am getting this error.
Code:
Sorry, no new invites are being accepted.
I have verified all settings and I have invites enabled and my usergroup has unlimited invites allowed.

"Sorry, no new invites are being accepted."

Where are you getting that message?

The page works like this: If registrations are closed and an override is in effect you must input your email address in the form. It will send you an email. Click on the link in your email which will validate your email and store the validation key in a cookie. This cookie is used to bring up the registration page.

Before I verify this as a bug can you please verify that you have the overrides on invites and are enabling the sending of new invites and have enough invites to send.

Checked all settings and I have my usergroup set with "0" (infinite) invites.

I can confirm that my forum is having the exact same issue.

Registrations are closed via vbulletin, overide is enabled, invites are enabled my usergroup has unlimited invites.

When I click on invites in my user control panel, I get the same message. Sorry no invites are avaliable at this time.

When I change it to a value say 10, I see invite (10) on the usercp, but again get the error message.

Hi Charlie,
Pandemikk is having problems accessing the forums right now. He wanted me to ask if you could pm him account access.

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new FTP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues.

The same applies to AdminCP accounts; they should ideally be temporary accounts created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorised user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the FTP account has access to the forum files, and that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it :D

Hello CharlieDelta,

I am unable to replicate this issue on the account you have provided me with. Please try to replicate the issue on the account you have provided me credentials with. If this issue only seems to exist on a specific user account please inform me which one it is so I can investigate.

Hi Jon,
I tested it on your temp account and it worked fine. It seems to only be on my account which is "Outdoorsman". I tried it on another computer with a different IP and still get the same error.

Hello,

I've found the problem and it's not quite a bug - since everything is functioning as intended. To explain, the problem resides in the way vB handles additional usergroup permissions. Yes values override No values and, in the cases of numbers, higher values override lower values. As such, the setting of "0" for administrator was being overridden by the setting of "3" for the additional usergroup used on your account.

A temporary fix for this would be to also alter the additional usergroup's amount of invites allowed to "unlimited" (0) as well. After doing this, I was able to successfully send an invites after applying the appropriate additional usergroup to the dbtech test account.

In the future, I will create a more robust work-around that will treat "0" as the highest number possible and thus prevent it from being overriden.

Please let me know if everything is working now,
Jon

Thanks Jon. That did it!

Unfortunately this did NOT work for my forum. Every usergroup except the unregistered users and banned users are set to Allow 0 (infinite) invites, yet I still receive the error message. I am PM'ing you login credentials for my forum, please take a look when time permits.

Hello,

You currently have registrations closed which is why you are getting this error. The ability to send invites with closed registrations is a pro-only feature. I will say this though, that in the next update the error messages will be made more clear; as of now they are a bit vague.
