Question Import

Does the lite version have the photopost importer?

Thanks

Okay, I found the answer - yes it does.

Although it recognised the photopost images we have on the forum, when it came to import them, for every image it showed a message that the image was skipped. What might have caused this and how can I import the images into DB Gallery?

Please make sure the /dbtech/gallery/images/upload & all its sub-folders have been CHMOD 777 then try again.

Yes, done that but getting the same message regarding skipped. I do hope I can import the images as I would then buy the pro version

Could you please create and PM me with a temporary FTP and AdminCP account?

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new FTP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues.

The same applies to AdminCP accounts; they should ideally be temporary accounts created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorised user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the FTP account has access to the forum files, and that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it :D

This is not a bug, it's a result of an incorrectly configured PhotoPost installation. In the ppgal_setting table, there's a setting with the varname gallery_filedirectory which contains the following directory: /home/rwfforum/public_html/gallery/files/

This directory does not exist on your forum, and as a result the importer cannot locate the files to import.

Okay, thanks for that, but how can I fix this? Do I remove that directory? It might be an old directory because we did use vbGallery before Photopost. Is your importer just for vBGallery and not Photopost? Sorry, I am completely new to this part of it.

Having thought about it, my photos are in /public_html/pgallery/data so how can I direct it to this?

I've changed some stuff around in the importer, and it seems like the majority of images have imported successfully now. If you are still noticing missing images, please tell me exactly what images are missing (link me to their PP Gallery page) and I'll look into it further :)

That is fantastic! Thank you some much for your time and perseverance. They are both very much appreciated.

I note that in the latest albums, there is a user name and the name of the album but not photos. Can I just prevent latest albums appearing?

Sorry, I'm not entirely sure what you're reporting, could you clarify please?

Sorry,

When I navigate to DBTech-Gallery and select Latest Albums, although it shows the album icon and information about the album, there are no photos in it - it says This does not have any entries.

Sorry for the delay :(

I've tried visiting your site to look into this but I'm receiving a 500 Internal Server Error when trying to access the gallery.

Just so you know today I tried to import the vb user albums (did not try vbgallery images yet) and I received a bunch of those same type of warning messages and it was unable to migrate the images to DB Gallery.

I checked the chmod 777 on the directories and they were properly set to chmod 777
For grins I checked the file server location in the ppgal settings even though I wasn't importing from vbgallery and it was set correctly as well.

I can only surmise that the importer is not working as designed. Please let me know if you can help although I'm initially more concerned with the database error the gallery is throwing after install because I do not yet even have a functioning db gallery so importing at this point is pointless, I just wanted to try it and see what happened, well that didn't work either. :)

Now that the gallery is actually functional I ran the import of the Vbulletin built-in albums to the DB Gallery and again it didn't work. It imported the "folders" or the "albums" themselves but did NOT import the photos despite all the necessary directories being flagged 777.

PLEASE HELP!

Sorry for the delay, for some reason our support ticket system grouped this in between issues already addressed.

I cannot bypass the .htaccess authentication on your AdminCP, could you please PM me with the user/password combination?

I sent the info in PM yesterday, let me know if you need anything further or if I can assist you in troubleshooting in some way.

This was a Lite-only issue, I've resolved it @ your site and the vB Albums importer is now running. It'll finish in approx. 30 minutes from this post. Let me know if there are any further problems :)
