Whenever I have the lite version of this enabled on my forum these two lined appear above the site:
Warning: Unexpected character in input: ''' (ASCII=39) state=1 in /home/rgfds23/runicgamesfansite.com/includes/class_core.php(4633) : eval()'d code on line 44

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/rgfds23/runicgamesfansite.com/includes/class_core.php(4633) : eval()'d code on line 44

Is this the first time you installed the mod, or was it installed already and just started happening?

Alright, lets get some more info.

What OS are you running?
What unzipping program are you using?
What browser did you use to download the files?

I'm about to head out for lunch, so I'm disabling the donation system on the site until I can get back and test more. I did notice one more oddity when vbdonate is turned on: The search box at the top of the theme, using the Dragonbyte MMO theme, suddenly breaks and shifts quite a bit to the right, cutting off and disappearing. I'll send you a picture later today.

As for your questions, I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit version, I extracted via 7zip, and I downloaded with Chrome. I'm still testing it on the site, but all the functionality appears to be working properly and shows up as I think it should (great modification btw!)

OK it you are only in testing stages, maybe what I need to do is completely uninstall the mod and re install from my end. Maybe the xml or something got corrupted during you downloading it or unzipping it.

Could you please create and PM me with a temporary FTP and AdminCP account?

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new FTP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues.

The same applies to AdminCP accounts; they should ideally be temporary accounts created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorized user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the FTP account has access to the forum files, and that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it :D

Small update, I tried redownloading it, reuploading all the files, and re-installing it (after uninstalling it) onto my site, and the error appears again. It doesn't appear for the first page load, the Contribute button appears in the menu properly, and the first time trying to load the vbdonate page it loads a blank screen. After that the error starts appearing and the vbdonate page loads properly, although the error is located at the top of every page of the site. I've gone ahead and uninstalled it again until you can take a look at it.

Another update: I turned it back on and had a staff member help me to test the functionality. He successfully donated a dollar despite the php parsing error showing up. However, he got a notification saying he had a new user note, but when he tried to load usernote.php the entire page was blank white, save for the parse error code from above. After removing the modification again the page successfully loaded, but the new user note was deleted along with the modification. I'm not sure how this is all related.

Ok thanks for the update, I am researching some things before I do anything.

This has now been fixed on your site and the mod re-enabled :)

The issue was UTF-8 characters for currency symbols being used in a document saved as Windows-1252, which corrupted the import of the XML file on your server.
It's a highly rare issue that indicates a misconfiguration on your server (as Windows-1252 has support for UTF-8 characters), it's happened on only one other server to date.

In either case, it should work fine now :)

Actually I disabled the mod, cause you need to set up the PayPal email addy and configure the mod to your liking. So once you have time, you can re enable it and set it all up.

Thanks to both of you! I will get our first fundraiser started now! :) Ironically, half the money we hope to raise will be spent here on dbtech ;)
