I don't know if it is possible, but right now core vB behaves that after post is deleted user is redirected to first page of thread. This is not a problem if thread has only one page, but if thread has more than one page and user isn't on first page when he deletes post, this is pretty annoying.

As I said, this is how core vB behaves and the same thing happens when user deletes post in his thread with this mod.

Would it be possible that user somehow stays on the same page where he deleted last post? It is really annoying behavior of vB, so if you could add some code in this mod that will leave user on same page even when post is deleted would be a big plus.

Interesting idea Alan. Will look into it's feasibility when I get time, though I'm not sure whether it fits with the scope of this mod, as it would take it further than the User Moderator concept. Will get back to you. Fillip H. might have an idea on it's feasibility as well. :)

Yes, I know that this is how core vB works, but this is something my users complain about and it is really annoying. Adding something like this would be pretty nice feature for your mod.

Alan, a quick question about this idea... :)

Are you referring to Soft Delete via the inline mod? Inline mod isn't something this mod currently controls in any way, but the normal edit post and delete seems to place you back on the page that the post is on... so I assume you are meaning inline mod.

:)

I noticed that when post(s) gets deleted, I end up on first page.

This is what happens no matter how I do deletion, by your mod, or by core vB deletion of post. If you could make that users stay on same page where posts were, it would be great.

Hmmm, puzzling as I seem to end up on the correct page. What web browser and version of it are you using? :)

I use Opera, latest version, but it is something I notice for some time. And I'm not only one. Actually, other people told me about this, as I myself don't moderate too much. I checked and noted that this is actually so. Strange you don't see it.

Thanks for the extra info Alan. Will do some more digging to see if I can find a solution. Does it happen when deleting just one post, or when deleting more than one? I'm thinking that it might be problematic to get the right page if you delete more than one post in a go.

I'm sure it happens when deleting one post, after post is deleted, I found myself on first page of thread, which could be a problem if there's many pages, users needs to reload to page they were.

I'll test a bit more. Maybe it's important, I have vBSEO, maybe that's a factor.

That's interesting, it could be part of the issue. If you have development/test board try testing it on that without vBSEO. I'll do some more testing myself to see what I can find, though I don't have vBSEO. :)

OK, I tested it more. Thing is, returning to thread beginning happens only when user deletes post by editing it, not when it is done by inline moderation. If post is deleted using inline moderation (as new version will enable) users stays on page where he deleted post(s).

Try deleting post as users' need to do with version 1 of your mod. Go to post on some page other than first, edit post and then choose to delete it. After that you should be returned to first page.

I tested this without using your mod, but as I said, this is something that's in core vB. If new version (and it will :)) of your mod provides inline moderation, users wouldn't have this problem and you can consider this feature request solved. :)

Just letting you know that I've been looking into a way to put the user back on the page they came from. I have noticed that vB seems to avoid this partially because it's possible to delete multiple threads which can mess with where you intend to be in the thread. I have an idea on how or two that might work. I'll let you know how I get on. :)
