after i upload the files, import the xml and set my admin permissions i get this when i select anything in the admincp for live feed [an error occurred while processing this directive]

any idea?

This is a server issue that has to do with your SSI directives. I suggest waiting a bit and trying again or, if that fails, contacting your host.

I suggest you inform them of the links you are clicking that give you that error. If they are unable to fix it there may be something Fillip H. can do to remedy this.

I have zero experience dealing with SSI and quite frankly I haven't heard anything about it for ~9 years now, not since I attempted to build my very first website.

Sadly I don't believe I'll be able to assist with this without more information from your host :(

i'm not sure this was answered, i actually just uninstalled the product and now i'm having the same issue with vbavatars now i've contacted my host and i'll wait to see what they say but i dont understand why i haven't had any problems with your products till now? very strange...i wonder if it was the upgrade to 4.1.11

thanks, my lovely host has yet to respond, but i did fix the vbavatars, all of the files permissions were wrong at my host. they were all listed either 775 instead of 755 or 664 instead of 644, after i fixed that issue everything worked fine. do you know how this would have happened? i would like to stop it from happening again.

again, i'm more then happy with the products you provide and the great service you offer :)

Can't say I've ever ran into such an issue before, it's probably just a matter of how they configure PHP, though I don't know for certain...

Only one way as this could happen. There's a setting for FTP. All directories from start should have 777, and all files 666. But you define in server settings something called unmask. It's usually set at 022, i.e. it makes directories 755 and files 644. For example, read this document: Quick Introdoction to FTP

Or, you could search for terms like FTP unmask 022.

Your server doesn't have unmask properly set. If you manage server (or could manage it) you could set it yourself. If not, whoever manages it has to do this for you.

wow, thank you..yep thats exacly the problem and it only started when i switched from windows to linux and a different ftp program! thank you Alan_SP!
