Bug Imported Games Not Saving Score Locally

All games that are imported do not save scores locally. The are saved to Mochi without a problem. All pre-loaded games such as asteroids and space invaders are saving scores without a problem.

I will PM you admin login to help diagnose.

Are you sure the games you imported from Mochi support local scoring?

Hey Ozzy. Yes sir. I actually imported over from vb3's mod and they were all saving then. I also added a few new games to test and they are not saving either.
BTW the high scores did not get imported over during the change. Not a a big deal but just thought it was worth mentioning.

Here are the current reasons why scores might not be submitting on your site:

The permissions for you and that game have not been set to Score (as opposed to Play or Record)
The game has been set to not accept local scoring
The game has been set to the wrong scoring system
Your game session has not submitted the score
Your .htaccess file has not been altered correctly (usually indicated by errors during product import)
Your arcade is set to archive your non-best scores, and that was not your best score
Your site is behind a server password prompt
Mochi: you do not have your publisher id or secret filled in
Mochi: you are running the arcade from localhost

ALMOST ALWAYS is it the first bullet, check that first, the next two are USUALLY set automatically, MOST games will have a well-informed score submission time (though I've seen games that send without telling you, and some that don't actually send despite claiming it), the fifth bullet will usually throw installer errors/messages, and the sixth bullet should at least show some scores from somewhere being saved. Usually games can't post through your password prompt, and especially not if you are using mochi, which sends scores from their remote servers without your forum session.

Do only specific games, or specific scoring systems, or all games not save scoring for yourself, specific usergroups, or everyone?

Check all that our and report back with your findings. If none of the above works the issue will be troubleshot further

when you imported from v3a, did you check the box at the bottom to include the high scores? They arent transferred unless thats selected.

I don't recall. This is not a problem for us though as we had just began to use an arcade. My big problem now however is that no scores for any imported games are saving locally. All the pre-loaded games are fine, asteroids, space invaders, etc..
Also all scores are being submitted to Mochi fine for any imported game.

vBArcade has no preloaded games at all. Asteroids, etc., were imported from v3a too.

Sorry, I guess I was mistaking when I installed the V3a, they were pre-loaded on that. My mistake.

Can you copy the forum/dbtech/vbarcade/crossdomain.xml file into your site root? (not your forum root).

Alternatively, send me ftp access, since if that doesnt fix it, might need to debug further with that.

I copied it to the root. Doesn't seem to change.

I uninstalled and re-installed the arcade and still nothing.
I deleted all games and have installed one so far - nothing. I will try a few more.

I have installed most of the games again and now the games that were once recording scores are no longer.
I have checked the database and there are no scores, only stats.
I am at a loss.

I have sent you FTP access a day or two ago, have you had any luck Darkwaltz4?

I don't want to go back to V3a as this one has a much better layout and the permissions work well with my usergroups.
I will buy you a couple of pints for your troubles.

It has been over a month now.
I have been planning on moving hosts and have been putting it off because I wanted to have this figured out first. I am running out of time and my members also are itching to start competing with each other.

I think you are finally all set now!

First, I had to clone the .htaccess from your forum folder to your webroot folder.

Second, a very import template fix that I did for you in your blue fixed style:

In dbtech_vbarcade_game_mochi find:

HTML:

profileURL = '$vboptions[bburl]/arcade.php?u=$bbuserinfo[userid]'

replace with

HTML:

profileURL: '$vboptions[bburl]/arcade.php?u=$bbuserinfo[userid]',

(note the colon and comma). You can alter your other styles for this fix.
