Hello. I have an idea. My English is not good, I hope to express it well.
To increase the activity in the forum, reward the user. For example, a "gift" something. That thing has a price for example $ 1000.
But if the user participates in the forum, the price is reduced to 0.
The idea is a hack to control the discount. For example:
1 post = -1 dollar coupon
Follow on twitter: -5 dollars.
Follow on facebook: - 5 dollars
Follow on youtube / google+: -5 dollars
Click retwitt: -3 dollars
Click "I like facebook": -3 dollars
mention another website / backlink: -10 dollars
Click on a section of the forum, make an action: -20 dollars .....
For each referral: -2 dollars
If the referred user post published 10: -10 dollars
I know there are external issues that can not be measured, as retwitt, but you can create a page where the user has to insert the link of the tweet ... references ...
For example, 1000 post = free object. By that costs $ 1000 ...
