One thing i used to like under Xenforo was that when you entered a thread, it automatically scrolled to the first unread message in the thread.

Cant see it being that difficult to emulate this under vB - Gotta be good where you enter a thread and it automatically scrolls to where you left of....

This is already a feature of vBulletin - you either click on the "VV" icon on the thread list, the ">>" icon in the forum home list, or the "VV" icon with "View First Unread" in the post list.

As for whether it's feasible to actually implement having all thread links go to the first unread post - I think that might require some vBSEO-level URL rewriting (or file edits), as far as I know there's no hooks available for the class that creates the URLs.

Personally, I would hate it if ALL links to threads automatically go to the latest post - through 8 years of using vBulletin I expect certain links to have certain effects. If I need to see the OP, with such a system I'd need to first click the thread link then go back to page 1 then scroll down to the OP.

That being said, that is entirely my own opinion and in no way, shape or form reflects official DragonByte Tech policies or the opinions of any other staff member :)
