Before buying DBSEO, I have some questions.

1. If I buy a 3 month access to this mod, do I get security updates after 3 months if there is an exploit or something like this?

2. Why do german umlauts like ä, ü and ö in URLs not work? In VBSEO they did. This changes the urls, so your plugin is not able to redirect from my former urls correctly?

3. Is there an option to hide characters like & in urls? at the moment on url looks like: handy-&-tablet-forum. It should be like handy-tablet-forum. Is this possible? I used that in vBSeo.

If we don't patch old versions, we provide file edit instructions where possible :)

Can you please be more specific than "doesn't work"? What are your current settings, what options have you tried, etc?

You can use the custom character filter to get rid of characters you don't want from the URL.

Tried every option I guess :D It does not show umlauts. instead of urls like "lügen.html" it shows "lgen.html"

You can use the custom character filter to get rid of characters you don't want from the URL.

How? You can replace them, but you cant delete, right?

I used the light version ofc.

Settings that appear to work for me:
All UTF-8 Options: No
Filter Non-Latin Characters: Keep Non-Latin Characters

Please note that this may cause issues with characters like & and %, as this option is only intended to be used for symbolic languages such as Japanese, Cyrillic and the likes, that would not use Latin characters in their title.

Does not work too. Only problem atm for me is ä, ü and ö in URLs. Any solution? Fix this and Ill buy it :)

Could you please create and PM me with a temporary FTP and AdminCP account?

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new FTP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues.

The same applies to AdminCP accounts; they should ideally be temporary accounts created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorised user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the FTP account has access to the forum files, and that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it :D

Couldnt you test this on one of your forums please? Only thing you have to do is creating a thread with one of those letters: ä, ü or ö. Sounds way simpler, huh? :D

Im using the newest version of VB4 and your plugin.

Um... In my previous post, I said that the umlauts work fine for me. This means I already have tested it on one of my forums. I will need to see this in action @ your site, and work to resolve any issues on your site directly.

I found a way to display the umlauts (actually the one you described I guess), but I have a problem.

With this settings, umlauts work, but words like "and" appear if a & is in the url:

with this settings, umlauts do not work, but characters like & do not display:

You know the problem is that I want the umlauts to display while not displaying those characters or words. Which was the case with vBSeo.

Have you tried turning on the Enable Legacy Forum URL setting in General Rewrite Settings?

In that case, DBSEO may not support the specific URL format that you need, sorry :(

While we try to emulate vBSEO's functionality as best as we can, while still avoiding all the numerous bugs and problems vBSEO caused for people, due to the fact that there's literally millions of server & configuration permutations, 100% compatibility cannot always be guaranteed.

Only the forum and thread urls are important for me. Forum IDs did not, thread urls had the id at the end. like this: mysite.de

forums are very important for me, I have over 300 forums :D
