Hi there,

just about to buy your vbDownloads but I have to make sure, that we don´t run into problems.
We are running DownloadsII and to avoid legal issues regarding copyright infringements, we don´t host the majority of the content on our servers. Instead we include them by the optional linking feature in DownloadsII, so the file and description etc is on our site, but the file itself is downloaded from the original site. That way it additional saves a lot of bandwith and doesn´t put even more load to the server.

I can´t see by the description, that vbDownloads offers the same feature and the importer can handle those links we already have in DownloadsII.
Btw.: I was told your files would be enrypted with IonCube. AFAIR they aren´t anymore sine a few years, or am I going wrong with that?

May be you could give me a head up.
Regards,
Marv.

The Downloads II importer is available in the Lite version, so I recommend you try that and make sure it works correctly for you :)

Our files are not, nor have they ever been, encoded with ionCube or any other form of encoding software.

Thanks for pointing that out, Fillip H.. But that doesn´t answers the question, wether the linking instead of hosting option is included in vbDownloads or not. That´s our greatest concern. And yes, I could (and I guess should) install the lite version. But I don´t wanna touch the barely and fragile running download system ;)

Greetings from the other side of the channel,
Marv.

Sorry, I mis-read your post, I thought you said you can see. The functionality is called Mirrors :)
