I'll have Fillip H. and Darkwaltz4 let you know the best way to run these together =)

By default they play nice, you can make vBCredits read from vBActivity points but it's recommended to have them separate. vBCredits can award credits for everything vBActivity can do (+ more), as well as have ways to deduct points (which vBActivity does not have) :)

In addition to selling both products you should both get together and put the two together with special functions for awards in vbcredits and just overall streamlining the way the two work together and charging more for it. You could still sell both of them standalone.

The two complement each other quite well, as they perform different things. With vBActivity, you earn awards and trophies based on your activity and point values can be assigned to them, and vbcredits will expand the currency support to more actions and let you manage them on a more granular level.

So can vBshop, vBactivity and vBcredits all be linked together as 1 currency?

If so, then that is an amazing package, and I might be interested.

Yep, using vBActivity's currency. If you are interested, I can walk you through the process when you are ready, although its pretty simple.

Maybe having a tutorial on this would be great.

So what can be done to have the same currency say for vBshop, vBcredits and vBactivity? Say if we wanted all of them to use the vBcredits credits? That way there is 1 currency and everyone can use the same currency to buy from vBshop, or vB activity or use with vBcredits etc.. etc..

I've been testing out the lite versions to see if it works fine and if my members like it or not. So far they like the idea.

Well, vBActivity can't change its currency, but you can quickly import that for vBCredits to use by going to its currency manager, clicking to create a new currency, and selecting it from the dropdown wizard at the top. Then, go to the Points Settings in vBShop and change Points Field to dbtech_vbactivity_points and set Enable Points Accumulation to No. Done! At that point you can delete the Credits currency and stick with the Points from vBActivity. Also, you should generally only assign those Points within vBCredits to actions not covered by vBActivity, or else vBActivity won't be able to calculate its awards etc accurately.

Ah this is what I was looking for. Integration between vBShop, vBActivity and vBCredits.

Which parts of vBCredits do we disable in terms of actions? Can you give an example of one?

And if I follow what you stated above. Then the points or credits would be one currency, which then could be used for all 3 applications?

Basically, I want to use one currency instead of having 2 or 3. This way there is no confusion between different types of currency, and also this way members can use the same points for vBcredits, vBActivity or buying from vBShop.

Yep, that will give you a unified currency that all of the applications share. Be careful around the recalculation features they each implement though, as they generally won't take into effect the activities performed by the other two.

As for vBActivity, if you are trying to build awards/etc around certain actions within the Points Settings of vBActivity, its best to leave them with vBA so that the proper logs get built and calculated off of. Anything else you can play around with in the Event Manager of vBCredits.
