I'm looking at both of your point systems and trying to figure out which one I would need.

What I'm wanting to do is set up a point system that rewards posters.

On the rewards it will be items like a site T-Shirt, a Ball Cap or even some gift certificates.

My question though is say once a user gets 8,000 points and they use 5,000 points for site T-Shirt does either of your point systems subtract the 5,000 points that they used for the T-Shirt from the 8,000 total points they have thus, leaving them with 3,000 points?

If not by using the point system with your vBShop will that subtract the points?

And if not can an amdin or moderator subtract the points inside the Vbulletin admin control panel?

Thankshtt

Both vBCredits and vBActivity would do what you need, though vBCredits is a dedicated points mod whereas vBActivity is primarily designed to track a member's activity.

vBCredits has more options for what events you wish to reward users for, so if all you need is to make users earn points for posting and other such events, I'd recommend vBCredits :)

On vBCredits will it subtract points when they cash them in at the vBShop? Example 10,000 points goes to shop cashes in 5,000 points for Tshirt = 5,000 points left.

And on VBCredits I'm assuming that the categories for points can be made up vs. just using the defaults?

That's correct.

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by categories. vBCredits does not have a categorisation feature. If you're referring to events, then you can only add events that are included with the mod (though the list is long, much longer than vBAA).

So this is the categories for points in VB Credits ii?

And you can't add any new areas that would receive points? Example instead of befriending friends adding friends gets a 1 pt for each one added. Or even sending a message to social media gets 3 pts. You can't add any new point definitions?

Just reading the description vB Activity and Awards acts like it's for a site that is new or doesn't have a lot of posts etc. Encouraging posting etc.

Would you consider vB Credits II the same in the since of being for a new site or for a site that needs to get individuals more engaged on the site?

And Does vB Activity and Awards subtract points used in the vBshop like vB Credits ll does?

They both work perfectly fine for all kinds of sites :)

And Does vB Activity and Awards subtract points used in the vBshop like vB Credits ll does?
vBShop is the mod that subtracts the points from the other two points mods, not the other way around :)
