LBCache is designed to deliver cached results, however these results are "stale" for a period of X seconds/minutes (depending on your configuration). vB Optimises focuses on caching primary data but also maintaining it within realtime (for example, template cache is rebuilt if templates change). That said I have not personally tried/tested it, so I can't comment on which is better I'm afraid.
