I'm running the lite version of Optimise and I'm thinking of upgrading to pro.

My users tell me that they think the forum is running faster since I turned it on and the Resource Saving Statistic chart in the ACP tells me that I've saved 40000 something in a day, so I guess it must be working. However when I look at the bottom of the main forum page I see this:

MySQL Queries vB Optimise has saved this forum 0

Why would this be? Should I be concerned? Have I not configured something correctly? Is this only active in the Pro version?

That's really odd... What happens if you manually run
Code:
select sum(queries) as total from vboptimise
(Remember to add your table prefix if you have one configured in config.php)

Thanks, I could do that but, to be honest, I'm a long way from being a mysql guru and I'm not too comfortable playing around in there.

The thing does seem to be working though, I've now saved 100000 according to your resource graph.

What I am prepared to do is buy the pro version and have you guys install and configure it. Is that possible?

I figured out the problem during the Pro Install - that is to say, I've no idea WHY, but who cares because I fixed it :p

I hotfixed the live release as well, so anyone else running into the same problem will get the fix too. Thanks! :D

Yep, all seems to be working now. One tiny issue, after the pro install I noticed the following in the settings. I'm not 100% sure I know what to do here:

--------------------------

Please enter the path to your plugin cache directory (without trailing slash).

NOTE: We recommend that you set this outside of your public_html folder to prevent security issues.
Setting this value incorrectly will cause plugin cache to fail.

Error:You did not enter a valid value for this setting.

-------------------------

Do I need to create a directory?
Can you give me an example of what it should be and exactly where is best to place it.

Any and all help appreciated.

It's fine to ignore that setting unless the above setting is turned on. Template Caching is experimental, and may not work correctly with all kinds of installed modifications, so I leave it off on installations I perform.
