I currently have vBActivity & Awards, vBDonate & Advanced Post Thanks / Like lifetime + branding free licenses for VB 4.2.2. I'm in the process of upgrading the site to VB 5.1 and need to look at costing around these 3 add-ins.

It's difficult to navigate through your site and getting the upgrade costs, not all of those listed have an upgrade option in my member area. There was an old thread talking about the upgrade being 25% of the cost if you don't need the VB4 anymore but all the costing I've seen so far seem to be the full price.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

vBActivity does not have a vB5 version as of yet.

The other two products may not work as intended on vB 5.1 yet as they have not been tested on that version. If your site makes heavy use of these 3 products, I would recommend not upgrading to vB5 as of yet.

The upgrade costs can be seen by going to your Client Area, click the "Renew / Upgrade Licence" link, then looking at the prices of either Dual Licence (both vB4 and vB5) or Replacement Licence (vB5 replacement) :)

I don't get the VB5 replacement option - just new license:

Yup, what happens with the branding free component? If I already have it with VB4, do I need to pay for it again when I upgrade to VB5?

I don't believe so, no. If it does end up not working for the vB5 versions, let me know and I will replace the licenses for you :)

Thanks, buying the updated packages now. Up to what version of VB5 have they been tested against? I've got 5.1.1a9 running in test atm.

Unfortunately not at this time, we're focusing our efforts on the vB3/vB4 versions of our mods since the vast majority of our customers use these versions.

I'm hoping to have time to look into it soon :)

Ok, the codes didn't work with the VB5 modules for me (well the VB5 modules that actually work with 5.1.1 that is).

Before I do that; Is the readme.txt file for the BF licenses displaying correctly for you? If they appear bunched up (as if someone forgot the Enter key existed) then it's possible the key has a "3" at the end of it. This number is not actually part of the BF key, and is used to signal "Step 3".

If this is indeed your issue, you can simply remove the extra "3". I would also recommend a Notepad replacement app, like Sublime Text (paid, but my all-time fave across both Windows and Mac) or Notepad++ (free) :)
