I am going to purchase this but I have a question.

I have vBseo. Do I have to uninstall it or will Dragonbyte SEO write over everything?

TY.

If you want to import from vBSEO, you will need to disable vBSEO in the ACP, alter your .htaccess file to replace vbseo with dbseo, install DBSEO, run the importer from the DBSEO AdminCP.

Then, once you've confirmed everything is working how you want it to, you can feel free to uninstall vBSEO and remove its files.

Everything seemed to go off without a hitch. My only question is and I hope I explain it correctly is that the circle in the upper left of the firefox browser keeps going round and round.

Stops after awhile (5 mins or so) but this never happened before I installed DBSEO.

thanks!!

That means some element on your page is still loading. If the site displays and works fine, it's nothing to worry about :)

Hi

Hi,

so if I understand corectly DBseo have the xame functionalities as VBSEO?
We just need to import our confuguration XML and we're good: page titles, meta descriptions, links ..every critical part works flawlessly?

My vBulletin is 3.8x and I am upgrading to 4.2.2, what will be the procedure to install BBSeo so that it functions exactly like VBSEO?

Thanks
Greg

Hi,

If you guys could please let me know if I can import me VBSEO settings and confirm that it would keep the critical page titles, meta descriptions and URL's that would be great.
I would buy this product right away.

Thanks

DBSEO does not contain all the functionality of vBSEO; we've opted not to implement certain features that are either not directly related to SEO (Likes), are outdated (Linkbacks / Pingbacks are no longer relevant for SEO, social sharing has replaced it) or detract from performance for little gains (Acronym Expansion, Relevant Replacements).

I would suggest that you examine the current vBSEO feature set, determine what features you use, then check to see that they are found in the list on this page: DragonByte SEO

It's impossible to guarantee it works flawlessly, vBSEO is certainly not flawless ;)

That being said, as you can see by our News forum, DBSEO currently receives weekly change & bugfix updates :) We are determined to fix all bugs as they are being reported.

One thing I should note: URL structures are sometimes slightly different from vBSEO to DBSEO. If you are using forum titles with no forum IDs in them, stopwords are not filtered from those URLs as they are in vBSEO. This is to correct a bug report we received where stopwords caused certain forums to not resolve correctly, and caused multiple forums to have the same rewritten URL causing confusion.

Install DBSEO -> Disable vBSEO -> Perform the htaccess changes as per the readme.txt file -> Use the vBSEO importer in the DBSEO AdminCP.

Note that the vBSEO importer is a Pro-only feature.

Thanks for your response Fillip H..
As mentioned, I am using custom URL settings. They include stop words that don't need to be in the URLs.
The most important for me are: urls that need to be exactly the same, page titles and meta descriptions too. No follow is important as well. The rest doesn't matter to me, I don't use the Like system for example.
Is there a way to test DBSEO on my development server to see if this is going to work for me?

Thanks

As I don't know the specifics of your URL configuration it's impossible for me to say whether the recent bugfixes would affect your URLs. I can't guarantee they will be 100% identical.

That being said, if any of them change and old URLs don't work, then it's possible to set up custom 301 redirects to redirect them to the new structure.

We don't have any trials of Pro versions available at this time, sorry :( Your only option is to install the Lite version and manually recreate your options as close as possible.

Well hope this will help:
1. My url's separator is: -
2. Limit url length is: 3
3. Forum path title bit: [forum_title]
4. Forum title: [forum_title]/
5. Forum pagination: [forum_title]/index[forum_page].html
6. Thread: [forum_title]/[thread_title]-t[thread_id].html
7. Thread pagination: [forum_title]/[thread_title]-t[thread_id]-[thread_page].html
8. Last post: [forum_title]/[thread_title]-t[thread_id]-last-post.html
8. New post: [forum_title]/[thread_title]-t[thread_id]-new-post.html
9. Go to post in thread: [forum_title]/[thread_title]-t[thread_id]-post[post_id].html
10.Go To Post in Thread Pagination Redirect: [forum_title]/[thread_title]-t[thread_id]-post[post_id].html
11. Next thread: [forum_title]/[thread_title]-t[thread_id]-next-thread.html
12: member profile Url: 001 - Hierarchic .html type URLs with content relevant forums and threads (Default Settings)

Pretty much all the rest is default settings.

Also, can I have a license that I can install on a development server once I buy the DBSEO (not lite). I need to test it out?

Thanks

If those settings are available as options in DBSEO, then you would be able to test it out.

Due to the fact that we don't employ any "call to home" code to validate licenses, we don't offer trial licenses of Pro versions. Sorry :(

Hi,
i used vbseo a long time, but now i take a look of dbseo.
is a translated Version avaible?
I use the Like system on vbseo, but dbseo have it.
i see that the Thank/Like system have an importer for vbseo likes.
is it an option to get the 2 Addons (dbseo + thanks/like) as an cheaper lifetime bundle?

At this time, there are no translations available for DBSEO. You can observe our Translations forum to check for new translations :)

There are automatic bulk purchase discounts available, more information here: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/info/discounts/

HI Fillip,
one Question :)
If i purchase the 1 Year Version, can i upgrade to a Lifetime Version?
The Timeperiod is only for Updates, or?

You can upgrade to Lifetime for the cost of the difference plus a small surcharge. However, if you wait until the license has expired, it will cost you the full amount of a new license :)

Hello, I am rather interested in purchasing your SEO with the lifetime support. I do have a few questions:

Since no software last forever what is the projected time frame for support?

If I pay for the installation when you install the software will you configure the SEO for optimum performance also?

We still provide support for all ours products, even the ones released back in 2010 :)

If I pay for the installation when you install the software will you configure the SEO for optimum performance also?
That is done automatically when you configure the Datastore config.php variable :)

Hi,

I wanted to bump up this thread for the following questions and know if updates relevant to my situation have been made:
1. Does DBSEO plan to be VB5 compatible?
2. Can my forum configuration be imported"
a. URL word separator: -
b. Max words in URL: 3
b. Thread pagination: [forum_title]/[thread_title]-t[thread_id].html (custom)
3. Control over meta description for threads: use x number of the first words in the first post.

Thanks
