Customer
I'm already utilizing the following:
xcache
vboptimise Lite
VB4: Supercharged
Expired Headers on all site content (Images, JS, CSS, etc)

I've run YSlow on my page and I get an A on everything except HTTP Requests (B) and CDN Content (F)

Right now, with Lite, the front CMS is about 72 queries. This is without any articles added. It's about 90 Queries without Lite. I'm a little uncertain about how much more Pro would help me. I'm also a bit ticked that I was about to pull the trigger on this JUST the other day and now the price has went up.

I'll let Deceptor discuss the performance implications, but i'll comment on the price rise (since thats me =P)

We give all of the early-bird adopters a significant discount on the products, and as the product and its features expand and grow, we raise the price to reflect this. Another consideration is the support factor. As products get larger/more popular, more support is required, If the price is too low, it means more support, which reduces the quality of the support given. By raising the price occasionally to reflect feature and performance increases, we both reward our loyal customers who buy early, and help to ensure the standard of support remains as high as posslble.

As an aside we *Always* send out an email detailing price changes about a week before they happen - this gives people a chance to buy if they've been considering it. The price rise on vBO happened on Friday 7th may.

=( Not much we can do if the person wasn't registered then/doesn't have emails from us turned on though which sucks.

Hope you understand our position though, we try to be as fair and transparent as possible with this stuff! =)

Well the price is about all that is stopping me from purchasing at this point, really. Oh well.

Thanks for your help.

I believe Cosmic has carried contact with you personally, but for others to see in regards to your question about queries/performance. Pro improves over light in a massive way, it can cache all CMS content by doing away with vBulletins database cache and effectively reduce 30/40+ queries (varies based on content). The biggest boost however comes from Guest Cache, which on averaged reduces both PHP/MySQL processing by 80-90% - an example would be under Guest Cache, the vB CMS is served with ~3 queries :)
