I am interested in both vB Optimise and the SEO Mods .. Do i need to buy both or would the SEO sort the Optimise bit? Also would i be able to use the same url's for posts, threads etc?

Ta ..

Hi there,

They both do completely different things, DragonByte SEO does not replicate any of the functionality of vB Optimise.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by use the same URLs for posts and threads, are you upgrading from vBSEO? If so, the Pro version of DBSEO comes with a vBSEO importer :)

If you do not have the vBSEO files still on your server (it can be uninstalled from the DB, that's fine), then you'll have to re-create its URL structure from memory. If you can do that, the DBSEO will absolutely have the same URL structure as vBSEO :)

Just taken a look and all i did was disable VBSEO, turned it all back on again and changed the .htaccess file but then the i lose my site?

That's probably because you've updated to a newer version of PHP which vBSEO was never updated to support.

Rest assured, DragonByte SEO does not suffer from this problem :) DragonByte SEO is compatible with PHP 5.6 and even PHP 7 :)

Ok, i understand .. So i will have to delete all the files and remove everything from the database to upload your SEO? Is this right ..

Oh, no not at all, you can leave vBSEO in place until the upgrade is complete :)

Once you have verified that DBSEO is working like you want, then you can delete vBSEO. If you delete vBSEO before this, DBSEO won't be able to import your URL structure.

Sidenote: If you purchase the Professional Install add-on, I'll take care of the import for you as part of the installation service :)

Ah I see, well I can remove them as part of the upgrade process as well if you do choose to go for Pro Install :)

Those old URLs it redirects from will then be redirected back to the DBSEO URLs, so you shouldn't lose any rank :)

Let me get this right then, i buy both the optimizing mod and SEO one along with the install for the SEO and you will see to the SEO to get it running? Even the .htaccess file as this has all the re-write rules in it ..

That's correct, and if you have any issues with any links not working correctly after the installation, I will fix it for you (for free of course) as soon as I can :)

All done on my side as well :)

I forgot to mention in my PM, when doing the Google Analytics authentication, make sure popups are allowed in your browser. If not, it won't open the new tab that has the "authorisation code" that you need to paste into the form.

Nah that's your profile ID, when you authenticate with Google Analytics you'll get a string of characters in a small text box that you have to copy, then tab back into the DBSEO CP and add it from there.

I have an account already but cant find the code?
Also will after contact host as the xcache.admin.enable_auth aint in the PHP Config Editor ..

You can fill out the Account ID and Profile ID manually in the settings if you like :)

Account ID: UA-XXXXXXXX-X
Profile ID: If you follow the instructions in this post: Where do I find my Google Analytics profile ID? | Paessler Knowledge Base you'll find your profile ID

Once both of those have been filled out, you'll have the full power of the Google Analytics integration unlocked :)

PS: I took the liberty of upgrading your vBSecurity and DBSEO versions to the ones released just now :)

Struggling to enter them manually, can't seem to find how? Just asking for the authentication ..

Anyway bedtime, will pick it back up tomorrow after work .. :(

Thanks for the updates BTW ..

/dbseocp/index.php?do=settings&dogroup=analytics is the settings page to enter them manually :)
