DBTech News
Quite a bit of news this week:
vBShout v6 now has a Lite beta available v6 has various features such as a banlist and shout fading added. You can read about the latest version (and see what was added in v6) here.
There have been a number of changes in our vBEC cart/license system - you can now download lite mods directly from your customer area for instance. You can read about the new features here.
There has been an update to the Staff Only Hidden Posts mods which you can read about here.
vBSlider has also been updated which you can read about here.
Last but not least the first mod from @bszopi - vBSlider - has been nominated for February's Mod of the Month contest over at vBulletin.org - a huge congrats to Brad at pulling this off. As ever we kindly ask that you use your vote for Mod of the Month, even if it's not for our mod - it gives coders recognition and motivation and encourages them to do more updates etc on the mod. You can vote here.
What's Going On
@Belazor is working on a new mod which you guys have been requesting for a while. It's something pretty major and we hope you'll like it - if all goes to plan there should be an early Beta version out next week.
@Dylan is in the finishing stages of his new mod, which can now be announced as a nominations type mod, that allows people to nominate/vote on all sorts of things - from one click nominations of posts you like that will automatically be entered into contests, to things like signatures etc - you guys should be able to play with it in the coming couple of weeks if all goes to plan!
@Darkwaltz4 is working on vBArcade and a new modification still.
@Ozzy47 is moving on from Staff Only Hidden Posts to a new sekrit project.
@bszopi is moving onto a new project which has had a few requests recently, it's likely to be quite large and in development for quite a while though
@Pandemikk is still putting the finishing touches to his first DBTech mod which I can now announce is... vBAnalytics, a mod which lets you track a bunch of data about in-forum usage. From what people on your forum are searching for, to which areas get most traffic and which threads are popular.
Coming Soon
Thread Ratings Lite should be out next week.
vBShout v6 should be going gold assuming no major issues pop up with the lite beta next week also.
The new project @Belazor is working on should be in beta in the next 1-2 weeks
vBAnalytics will hopefully be in beta in the next 1-2 weeks also
vBNominate from @Dylan should hopefully be beta ready within the next couple of weeks as well!
Decado's Corner
Lots and lots of interesting stuff been going on the past week or so as you can see. Everything is back in full swing now here at DBTech after the holidays, with the exception being me because I'm still suffering from a hangover after a night out last night. On a related note, I was given a Batman mask at a club last night. That means i'm the batman now. That's how that works.
Brad managed to get his first DBTech mod - vBslider - nominated to MOTM at vBulletin.org, which is just a fantastic job done by him. The mod is incredible and if you haven't tried it yet you should, I think you'll love it! I've been handing out assignments and checking up on the progress of new mods today and things are coming together nicely. Jon's first mod, which has been revealed as vBAnalytics is more or less back-end complete and just needs a few tweaks here and there aesthetically and some extra data to be ready to go.
I'm really excited about the mod Fillip is working on, but it's not something I can talk about quiiiite yet. it's something we've had quite a few requests for and that we already have tons of expansion plans in mind for as well... I really wish I could divulge what it is now, but you will find out next week! I love it when things are firing on all cylinders here at DBTech Towers!
Thanks again for reading and I look forward to your comments below.
