DBTech News
Lots of news this week!
First up we're happy to announce the official launch of our vB5 Mods. The initial launch line-up is as follows:
AJAX Threads
Advanced Post Thanks / Likes
Advanced User Tagging
Infopanels
vBDonate
vBMail
vBShout
All accompanied by Lite versions of course. Click here for more info on our vB5 mods.
Next you may have noticed you are now on one of our new skins - either DragonByte v3 or DragonByte v3 Blue. Along with the new styles we have changed various parts of our vBec system as detailed below:
Cart: The cart will no longer follow you down the side of the page. Instead as you add items to your cart the "checkout" button at the top of the page will update to show you how many items you have in your basket. You can then click on checkout to view the details of the items in your basket and edit/change your order before placing it. This brings DBTech in line with most online cart systems such as that used by Amazon and Steam.
Product Info Layout: There is a new tab organisation system in place in the store allowing you to view products by new categories: New, All, Top Sellers and On Sale. You can further refine your selection by format - e.g vB3, vB4, vB4, xenForo, Skins. This should make it much quicker and easier to find the mod you are looking for.
Product "bookshelf": This is an interactive image of all of our Pro vB products - you can click on any mod to be taken to the details page. It is intended to give users (especially new users) an overview of the variety of products we offer.
Testimonial Box: We now have a testimonial box with quotes from some of our favourite clients and various influential members of the vBulletin community, ranging from Gearbox Software to an official vBulletin Management quote.
New Rotator: At the top of the page you will notice a new rotator - this gives info on the various services DBTech provides.
Custom Work Page: There is a new landing page for Custom Work where you can read info on the services provided (both coding and skinning) and fill in a form to receive a quote.
About Us: This isn't a huge update, but we have updated the About Us page to be more accurate and included the recent staff changes.
We have more features to come - check out Decado's Corner for more info.
To celebrate the relaunch of sorts we have a new special offer running this week: Enter the coupon code RELAUNCH to receive a 15% discount off of EVERYTHING for one week - even your vB5 upgrades/purchases.
In release news 5 of our products have been updated in the past week.
vBDownloads v2.0.0 Beta 1 has been released bringing about half a dozen new features including Category owners and file-path imports, you can read all about them here.
A single bug fix means Follow Users is now v1.1.2 & ACP Shortcuts is now v1.0.1
vBDownloads 1.4.0 Beta 4 was also released this week, which brought several bugfixes and a few changes. Read about it here.
Advanced Registration is now v2.0.1 bringing a number of bug fixes to the recently updated and popular mod. Details here.
Our first Focus Group Survey is going out tonight. Thank you to all of you who signed up. The first prize draw will be next week. Those of you who are interested in joining the focus group can still do so! Why would you want to? Well, this group will be vital in helping DBTech understand the wants and needs of our customers and helping to improve the services and products that we offer. Now you guys can see what i've been busy with these past few weeks! Hopefully you like the new skins as much as I do, and find the changes to the site make navigation easier and more natural.
There are a couple of features still to be added - the Site Directory will be going live after a few more changes (we are trying to come up with a way to have it automagically grab a screenshot of the forums who sign up). Those of you who have already attempted to sign up will likely have to do so again due to the changing format - sorry!
We are also adding a Recommendation Engine which I am rather excited about. It will look at the products you already own and recommend other products that work well with them that you might find useful for your forum - a great way to find useful mods you might otherwise overlook!
Lastly we will be adding a few filters to the "Top Sellers" tab - you will be able to sort by All time (which it is currently), Past Year, Past Month and Past week. This lets you see how popular products are over time and make sure your site isn't being left behind by competitors!
To those of you in the survey group, you should be receiving your links tonight - thanks again for signing up, it's appreciated. Prizes for the draw will be announced next week in this blog along with the winner!
As always i'm interested in hearing your feedback on the blog in the comments, especially this week given all the changes!
There are other changes coming over the next month or so, but nothing I can discuss *quite* yet... suffice to say I'm pretty sure you guys will enjoy them!
Thanks for reading as always,
